I certainly hope that was reported to the poll officials immediately... and the machine was pulled offline immediately... but I doubt it.

@chalket: The youtube description says he complained to an official and she didn`t do anything, so that`s when he recorded the video. He also said he thought the calibration was off, so he selected Jill Stein to see if it would mark Obama, but Stein selected just fine.

The Scantron counting machines have been hacked before, as well, but at least there is a valid paper trail for recounts.

Funny how when the machines were doing the exact opposite and fox reported it it was just fox news being biased.

That would hold some weight if he recorded that.

If you`re going to do any sort of fraud like this, you don`t make it known to the person voting like that, that`s retarded. They`d change something on the back end to vote Romney despite Obama selected or something.

Tocuhscreens can get out of alignment on a certain portion of the screen. So say the bottom right may be perfectly aligned, but say the upper left corner may be WAY off. And agree with Keyh, if someone were going to hack it, it would be hacked on the backend, so it wouldn`t be obvious to the user.

"Touchscreens get out of alignment it`s a common occurance."
Undoubtedly true, but if that common occurrence makes it difficult or impossible to cast a given vote (for either side) then why are we using it?

I feel like nobody would rig voting in this way, it`s extremely obvious. Surely there`s a way to program it so that "Obama" votes go to Romney.

But anyways, I`ve always had paper ballots. They work. It`s the best way.

    Sadly, this is not new.
That`s how Bush won his second term.
It was reported, but Americans didn`t care enough to protest, to force politicians to keep voting honest.

We {and by "we" I mean YOU} threw away our rights. Now we`re surprised we don`t have any? Or that elections are crooked?

    Puh-leez Louise!

    diddo to chalket.
But we really need a more regulated way to get these voting machines in place.
(Also, why didn`t he just press one down? Just keep pressing in that area till it highlights who you want? XD)

Apparently no one calibrated the touchscreen.
