Guess I`d better hedge my bets and start meta-worshiping!!!

Or, you know, just accept the fact that I`ve got to do the best I can for the time I have.

    One of the two. ;-)

Not sure about this...Fancy, are you trying to *insinuate* that it was not the correct use of "Your" or "you`re"?

If that is the case, then just remember this...if it sounds fine with you are in it...then use you`re. If it is implying posession, then your is right.

I`m confused by the insinuation. The only grammatical error he made was not using a quotation mark at the beginning of the quote.

I don`t think fancy was correcting Zach Braff. I think his asterisks were to be seen as italics. You know, like "Don`t worry, {i}you`re{/i} going to be OK." I`m pretty sure the asterisk is an accepted shorthand for italics.

Well, in fairness to people with imaginary friends, 61% are Christians, Muslims, or Jews. Since they all worship the same God basically, MOST religious people agree on who they pretend exists.

As for this post being anti-religion, I`ll tell you what: keep your EFFING religion out of the laws that govern those of us who don`t believe (yet who pay taxes, serve in the military, live in your communities along side you, etc.), and the need for stuff like this tweet, etc., will completely disappear. But, no, freedom of religion isn`t enough for you. Being allowed to practice your religion however you want for yourself isn`t enough for you and your ilk. Nope, you want to effing lord it over the rest of us, too. Well, I know this might seem weird, but, that pisses people off. And you know what they do? They strike back. Sometimes with words, like Zach. So, don`t like it? Quit interjecting your PERSONAL beliefs into the public space!

That is, bar none, my all time favorite religion quote.

    Along with:

The bible is like the iTunes terms of service agreement. Nobody reads it they just scroll to the end and click "I agree".

DromEd, I guess by "public space" I should have been more specific (although I figured by context it was obious). By "public space", I meant public laws that affect us all. So, no, I didn`t do that. At all. I was responding those who might call Zach`s tweet anti-religion, or feel angered or threatened by such statement. I was explaining why they`re made. And, yeah, as a tax payer I feel like I have a right to be free of your religion having control over me.

Anyone who spent some time studying faith, rather than the pop culture (media) version of it, can see how much of a grasp for straws this statement is. He may feel brave in his mockery, but it will fail him when he needs to rely on it most.

Oh, you mean it`s OK for me to have an opinion as long as it doesn`t interfere with what you believe. So what happens when you have an opinion that interferes with what I believe? Oooo, that`s a tough one id`nit? It`s a big world and sometimes stuff don`t go as we would like. Deal with it.

"So what happens when you have an opinion that interferes with what I believe? Oooo, that`s a tough one id`nit?"

No it is easy. You can believe in God, or Santa, or Shaku, the invisible purple tiger that lives in your attic and gives you skittles. It won`t interfere with my life one bit. Plus me believing that you are a f.ucking simpleton for believing that won`t affect your life.

I just don`t want to have to put my hand on a bag of skittles in court, or see a congressman say that the earth is really a giant floating turtle because Shaku says so.

Why is the religion that was drummed into you as a child the correct one?

    DromEd,
To paraphrase HolyGod (sorry, HG, if I`m being presumptuous): We all have a right to have personal beliefs and opinions. Having that right doesn`t give us the right to force others to live by them.

MattPrince: You`re right to a point.. usually that point you mention is met somewhere along the journey, but it is not the end (even though some consider it to be). There is still yet further to study.

A religion that teaches us to Love one another is on the right path. But mockery, like what this post shows, has no place in love. It`s gone in the completely opposite direction, leaning on ignorance (either willful or non), but being devoid of any true wisdom.

To give you an idea why it seems like grasping for straws, it`s like someone with a grade 6 level of math trying to explain to a calculus/statistics major about calculus or statistics, and not getting it right simply because there`s information they have yet to learn (or unlearn).

@TheGuySmiley: Oh, ok. So at *some* point in everyone`s journey they will understand that Christianity is the true religion?

And a religion based on love is the right path? That could be many religions. Or are you just saying that having faith is good enough? Because that wouldn`t really work with religions that say it isn`t.

patchgrabber: At some point everyone will know that God is real. At that time they will realise that there is only One God, and He was known by many people, described in may ways, and even having 1000`s of names. When they understand with this new revelation, everything will make so much sense.

His command is "love one another". And everyone already knows this is what is in store for the future of humankind, because it`s been shown on the small scale that we are most efficient when we love one another. He`ll show us how to do it on a bigger one.

@TheGuySmiley: So every God is the same God? Tell that to the Hindi. Why would your God say "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" then? Seems like even your God acknowledged that people had other Gods but that yours was the only one you`re allowed to worship. I`m sure an Imam would say that you just haven`t come around yet and that eventually all people believe in Allah. What makes you more correct than him? And quotes from the Bible don`t count.

    An-egg,
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me" is also from a time when people worshipped other deities. Remember that idols were representations, extensions perhaps, of gods. They were not, themselves, the gods. Also, I`ve always felt that it didn`t mean that there are no other gods, just none more important. Doesn`t actually make more than an academic difference to me, though, since I`m not a believer.

PG: There`s still much for us to learn, so people will often argue of the specifics. But if you ask anyone if love is the most important thing in the world, you will hear a resounding yes. This is because God has written it in the hearts of mankind to know, yes, even those who do not believe in God. God is holy and urges us to be the same and love one another, and you can find this root in all major religions of the world. I have no argument with anyone and their choice of faith, but i do have issues when people exercise bias, hate, prejudice, etc, over love. Because it`s in efficient and hampers growth.
