    Actually, the earth IS the center of the OBSERVABLE Universe, which is the only meaningful way to reference the Universe. More precisely, YOU are always at the center of the observable Universe from your point of view. No matter where you go in space, you will always see yourself as being at the center of the observable Universe. The limit of transparency, i.e., the source of the ~2.7-deg. background radiation, will always appear to be the same distance, ~14 bil LY, from you in any direction, and it`s moving away from you at about ~0.99998 c as the Universe expands.
