good luck is usually a saint/sacred person, and done on the foot/hand, this looks like royalty/nobility. i have to say in all my travels and museum visits i`ve never come across a statue with rubbed titties.

    Apparently there is an etiquette

No mention of boobs, though. That may be more fondling than superstition. And if someone looks askance at you for fondling a statue`s boobs you just claim it as a superstition or belief, and everything is perfectly normal.

I dont know this particular statue or where it resides, but I have heard about people rubbing the breast or genital area of certain statues for luck in reproduction. No idea if this is such, or just some lonely patrons.

I`m pretty familiar with this statue actually. It`s the statue of Marie Antoinette at the Basilica of Saint-Denis in Paris. This is kind of drated up because it marks a tomb... It`s (I don`t know how you would say it) a tomb statue.

When I was in Verona I saw a bronze statue of Juliet what was all dark with age except for the breasts which were gleaming like new.
