When faced with an imminent loss, pull out all the cards you got starting with the race card. ...like Powell is a conservative. He`s the very definition of a RINO.

"...and I`m one of them!" Said Colin right before voting for Obama for NO REASON WHATSOEVER other than the color of his skin.
You made the claim, it`s your job to defend it.

If someone is claiming that something is in a certain way, I expect them to be able to quote their sources.
You can take it, or leave it, or shove it up your ass. Live in ignorance if you want. I couldn`t care less.
Southern Democrats of the 1940s are radical Republicans of today.
No, Southern Democrats of the 1940s are all DEAD now. The few who became Republicans, e.g. Strom Thurman, are the ones who also renounced racism. The rest remained Democrats AND racists till they died including Al Gore`s father, Al Gore, Sr., and Bill Clinton`s mentor J. Willie Halfbright. And a larger percentage of Republicans than Democrats voted for the Civil Rights act of 1964.

No, the old canard that "Republicans are racist" is nothing but lying Democrat slander put out for stupid, ill-educated sheep like you who don`t have the intellectual curiosity to question them.

You don`t need sources. It`s evident. Those that deny it are fellow racists.

MSNBC--"Republican base... is basing their votes on race... not economy, character, or.... " Or what? How do we judge the President by? "Integrity". Integrity is out the shoot... if you watched any debate. The problem is that the economy, his character, and the course this country took... is based on his actions/performance for 4 years and they haven`t produced our expectations. END OF STORY. So the choice comes down to B or M. B failed on every expectation. M is new. You choose.

"Typical liberal -- always expecting to have everything done for you. You have a computer; Google it up yourself! "

You made the claim, it`s your job to defend it. That`s how the world works. No one needs to google your claims to prove them for you, that`s your job. If you want people to believe you, you should back up your claims.

OldOllie, not understanding the party changes that happened with the Dixiecrat change and the understanding that the political parties of the 1940s and 50s have *no* resemblance to today doesn`t make you appear very intelligent. Or are you perhaps being willfully misleading? Since I know that you *are* intelligent, I have to think it`s the latter. Southern Democrats of the 1940s are radical Republicans of today.

Typical liberal -- always expecting to have everything done for you. You have a computer; Google it up yourself!

The only Klansman who ever claimed to be a Republican was David Duke, and that was LONG after the Klan was reduced to a few hundred toothless inbred f***tards. He has ALWAYS been shunned and reviled by the Republican party.

Robert Byrd, on the other hand held the titles of "Kleagle" (recruiter) and "Exalted Cyclops," the top officer in his local Klan unit, and he was NOT shunned and reviled by the Democrats; in fact, they made him the f***ing President pro tem of the f***ing Senate -- third in line for the presidency!

If you want to know who the REAL racists are, just look at the devastating and disproportionate effect that 50 years of Democrat policies have had on the black family with regards to poverty, illegitimacy, abortion, crime, and incarceration

I don`t agree with his politics, but I`ve always admired Lawrence Wilkerson`s ability to speak coherently and intelligently about issues like the Iraq War and the War on Terror. Looks like this is another issue I`m in agreement with him upon.

And by the way, guy, I know that details are tough, but Powell isn`t the one who said that his party is full of racist. It was his former chief of staff, and retired Army COL Lawrence Wilkerson. Kay? Kay.

So, let`s see if we can figure out if race had anything to do with Obama being elected, or the way in which black people voted...Hmmm, I wonder if there was some sort of magical mathematical-based, verifiable way to determine if things changed for black voters when Obama was on the ticket? You know, to "prove" that blacks vote for the black man because he`s black.

Hmmm. Well, being as 95% of blacks voted for Kerry, and Gore, and Clinton, and 98% voted for Obama, OMG, I guess there *is* a racial component to it. About 3% of the entire black population. Perhaps Powell`s in that 3%? But, let`s looks and see how many blacks voted for Herman Cain. You know, the black candidate running for the Republican nomination for President. Oh. Dang. No statistically significant number of blacks voted for him. Dang. Sorry guys. Try again.

True that Gerry, it`s difficult to forgive the total waste of majority mandate.
Like I said, lack of options..
Also he reboots well * see 2nd, 3rd debate* after a kick in the pants from the base.
What we can count on is that he not gonna declare a war to help his friends businesses, not gonna leave middle class without a safety net, not gonna trample on veterans, seniors & disadvantaged for the benefit of billionaires.
There is a basic decency and FairPlay.
Everyone else in the world sees it.

sutra46 - His first year in office he had a Dem majority in congress, but they bogged down in pork-begging and argueing. Obama failed, as the defacto Dem leader, to cut through that and get anything of any significance passed. Obamacare you say? What a joke.

No, he`ll be remembed in the history books as the 1st black president. Not as a great president.

Gerry, what you, like most Dems Moaning about Obamas leadership don`t understand is that he tried his best to be a president for all Americans not just left of the left but true bipartisan leadership.
Rebublicans were openly committed to fail his presidency at the expence of the country.

He is not perfect but in given choice it`s not even a contest. The other side is desperately grim.
Second term is where he can go all out & do good on his promises.
Keep faith.

@ sutra46 - of course I like his weak stance on gay marriage, but the other 198 issues I`m not as pleased with. Obama`s failed completely at leadership.

But, Romney is just frightening. So I`m not voting for Obama... I`m voting against Romney.

Four years ago, Powell proved he`s a racist. This year he`s proven that he`s also an idiot. However, this dickhole is just a despicable lying Democrat troll. He`s probably never voted for a Republican in his life.

And for those of you who learned your history in liberal unionized government schools (this means you, madest), the most notorious southern racists, including the ENTIRE Ku Klux Klan, were without a single exception ALL Democrats -- every rotten, stinking one of them.

So, I would like to cordially invite Ed Schultz, Colin Powell, and this @$$clown Lawrence Wilkerson to take their f***ing race cards, fold them five times, and shove them straight up their asses.

"Isn`t a black Democrat who voted for him just because he`s `a brother` just as racist? "

Maybe they`re voting Democrat b/c they know that the Republican party is full of racists.

Black people voted the party elect! They have voted white ALL of the times before 2008,
I am more likely to vote for a woman whose platform I support & is aligned with my issues.
In addition to the current platform of the Democratic party the party elect is Black. Incidental.
If there was a choice between Herman Cain & Obama e.g. the blacks would still vote Obama in majority.

It always tickles me when those who are discriminated against defend the discriminators.

Gerry, you happy with Presidents support for gay marriage?

Isn`t a black Democrat who voted for him just because he`s `a brother` just as racist?

If racist votes got you in office, don`t complain if they kick you out, too.

Ed Shultz is a very smart man who coasts on his ego. He does little research, restates his points a hundred times to fill an hour, and generally leaves his audience with little to no more info than they started with.

And I say that as a lib.

...or they want him out simply they`re REPUBLICANS and Obama is a DEMOCRAT. Just like they wanted Clinton out of the Whitehouse because Clinton was a DEMOCRAT.

You saw it on Jon Stewart fellas, how Ed Schultz played the Hitler card against the GOP, WITH PASSION! Now he`s letting this schmuck play the race card.
Two for the price of one!

This would be the Colin Powell who was so dishonest as to allow a huge investigation and even political prosecution of members of the Republican administration to avoid a minor embarrassment to his own staff. The man who know who had let slip that Valerie Plame was in the CIA yet allowed the persecution of Libby.

Disgusting man, certainly never had any honour nor any loyalty to the Republican Party. Hardly a surprise he lies about them now.

Any doubts? Well, if you believe some science on the issue, check out this link.

It says, "In all, 51 percent of Americans now express explicit anti-black attitudes, compared with 48 percent in a similar 2008 survey. When measured by an implicit racial attitudes test, the number of Americans with anti-black sentiments jumped to 56 percent, up from 49 percent during the last presidential election. In both tests, the share of Americans expressing pro-black attitudes fell."

Let`s not pretend that most of those people aren`t in one of our political parties.
