And gets murdered in the making of the movie!
    Ooops, spoiler!
It`s a terrific film! Tragic reality makes it kinda sad though.

PS: I KNOW it wasn`t "murder" but I`m going with @FancyLad`s description there... artistic liscence!

His death makes the movie less great, because of that sadness. IMHO.

5Cats: Actually it`s never been explained how live rounds were allowed on the movie set in the first place. The weapons handler said he never brought any live rounds on set. So it`s still a mystery, who brought them and how did they get switched?

It wasn`t a live round that killed him, something was lodged in the barrel and the blank propelled it out when the gun went off

"Brandon Lee died of a fatal gunshot wound on March 31, 1993 after an accidental shooting on set of The Crow where a blank bullet was used during a scene, which fired a fragment of a real bullet that was lodged in the barrel." -Wikipedia

"Proper blank cartridges were used during the fatal scene, however due to a mix up during earlier filming of gun close ups, a bullet had become lodged in the barrel of the revolver without anyone noticing." - Wikipedia

As I said, The weapons handler said he never brought live rounds onto the set. If that`s the truth no fragment could`ve been lodged in the gun `from previous filming`. Someone at sometime put a live bullet in the gun and that someone has never been found.

It wasn`t debris or detritus, it was part of a bullet.
