No, those with inherent social privilege don`t get to cry racism when those lacking their privilege seek to better their standing. Racism isn`t having an all black beauty pageant. The effects of racism are being profiled by police, not being able to walk down the street without mothers pulling their children closer to them when you pass, being judged in every interview you will ever go to by your skin and not your merits. She doesn`t know racial injustice. She knows white privilege.

I think she`s right. Its perfectly acceptable to have "black pride" or "Hispanic pride" or "Asian pride" but if you say you have "white pride" then everyone starts screaming that you`re a racist. Whodat`s picture pretty much sums it up.

Of course minorities can be racist, but saying you`re proud to be "black" or "hispanic" must be viewed from a societal context. These groups are historically discriminated against by the majority, and are still under-represented in government. So, they have a need to band together to represent their interests. Us white folks don`t have to worry about that, and there`s a history of white people using "white pride" as a way to cause harm to minorities.

On one hand she`s wrong in that there is still plenty of discrimination against minorities coming from white people. On the other hand she`s also correct in that there is plenty of discrimination by minorities against both white people and people from other minority groups. Can you imagine the outcry if someone tried to televise a "Miss White America" or a "White News" show? I do believe there is just cause for reverse prejudice in some places, attempting to correct a handicap imposed by long decades of anti-minority prejudice, but some members of minority groups play the "race card" to get what they want by claiming prejudice having been levelled against them and too many simply accept that they`re right. That`s unjust prejudice.

It is at very least a two way street.. For example `Black History Month`...does that mean black people in history are excluded for the other 11 months? `Native American Aborigional Awards`.... Are they exempt from every other award ceremony? Somehow this is appropriate but any exclusion of a minority is poor taste.
I looked up 11 scholarships the other day and as a single, able bodied caucasian male I was put last in line for every one of them.. "preference given to people of aborigional descent, visible minority, and female applicants". Getting to play the race/minority card is total bs... best person for the job should get the job.

The irony of you guys claiming other people are racist as you denigrate an entire race.

It`s not socially acceptable to say "White Pride" because racist white people have ruined the term. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

I think everyone should have equal opportunity and be respected equally. No one should get special treatment. There should be no such thing as "african-american" scholarships, or quotas of minorities that universities have to admit each year. It`s ridiculous. People should identify themselves as American or Canadian or whatever-country-you-are-from-ian and not add the race prefix. Humans don`t have subspecies.

Even Morgan Freeman thinks black history month is silly. We should celebrate those people as great -people- not great -black- people. And I know at least in my history teachings, those great people were incorportated into my curriculum. I don`t need to re-recognize them for a month and listen to annoying Maya Angelou poems over and over.

Pretty sure if I wanted to start a white student association, or a white history month or a white people scholarship, I would be sued and publicly flogged.

Every single race have people that will discriminate. There are people in all the races that wont discriminate too. It is quite sad that discrimination happens but it is just like a form of bullying, and bullies are everywhere.

The very phrase itself -"Black Rights","Womens Rights" etc. causes segregation.
I believe in "Equal Rights"-regardless of race, sex or religion/beliefs.
As a white christian heterosexual male, I`m stuffed lol.
I cant claim any exclusive group rights like everyone else seems to be doing.
I cant claim black rights, womens rights, muslim rights or even gay rights!

Oh damn... see watcha done.. got me on my bloody soapbox lol

Anyone who starts a sentence or conversation with "I`m not racist, but..." is a fuqing racist. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Does she have a point? It`s a dumb point, but I guess it`s a point nonetheless. Why is it a dumb point? Because it`s a point that no one has ever tried to contradict. No one has ever said that only white people can be racist. No one says that black people can`t be racist. So her point is stupid.

It`s like me trying to make a "point" that my car has 4 wheels. Duh!!! I can make that point all fuqing day, but if no one contradicts me, then what`s the point of my point? NOTHING!!! IT`S JUST STUPID!!!
