    So, whats wrong with this?

    Clean car (Jeep).
    Nice looking wheels.

I don`t see anything wrong with this at all. its not like 90% of the Jeeps on the road actually see any off road duty anyway.

Somebody should put huge mug-grips on a bright purple Crown Vic just to maintain balance in the cosmos.

I would never do anything like that... But it is still more than capable of getting to any off-road spot this person would desire (highly unlikely the owner of this would, though.)

Offroad capability - zero, douchbag factor - right through the ugly tan canopy.

I guess this is a result of when the `Jeep Thing` meets the `Black Thing`.

Draculya-"They never get driven off-road anyway."

    If by `They` you mean `stupid 24" rims`, you`re right.

If by `They` you mean `Jeeps`, you`re wrong.

onoffonoffon-"Spent his money on wheels instead of a hardtop."

Why bother putting a hardtop on a Jeep? The only reason I even have a soft top is because it rains.

I had a 99 soft top about 8 years ago. Not sure if it was just mine or what but the damn top was a pain in the ass to put on. Mainly where it latches down on the windshield frame, almost as if it were too small for it.

    @Kegomatix

Jeep tops can be a pain. Not sure about the 99, but the `63 CJ and `90 YJ`s I`ve owned both had the tongue & slot attachement on the windshield. Not too bad when it`s hot, but a pain when it`s cold.

I don`t care about the rims, the color or the roof.
    Where are the brakes????
You can see through the rims and you should see the brake discs.
(Or does it run on small drum brakes? Really, a car with this renomee runs on drum brakes?)

this dude can do what ever he wants to it. He bought it. Besides, for all the Jeeps I saw on my college campus and here in nyc, I see only irony that so few actually go off road.

If anything this guy/girl is actually using real road tires for his/her environment. I laugh when I see off road tires on Jeep here in nyc, you destroy them and replace them frequently and it actually dangerous.

It`s a stylistic car with cultural relevance far removed from it`s intended purpose.

muffalletta-"how many people take their jeeps off road anyway"

    *raising hand*

Every jeep I`ve ever owned has been covered in mud, dinged by trees and on it`s side at least once.

Ilikelogic-"Or does it run on small drum brakes?"

Depending on the year (that`s a TJ I believe), it will either have Disk Brakes in front and Drum Brakes in rear, or disks all around.

By putting that much metal that far from the hub, he`s definitely increased in braking distance. Anytime you have rims like that you should upgrade your brakes.

    VW Rabbit
    Pontiac Tempest

I rolled my Wrangler off-road. It landed on all four wheels, I started the engine back up and continued on. Badass vehicles.

Yeah, I really don`t see the point in buying a vehicle that`s main strength is offroading, and then destroying that strength with rims and tires like this.
