In reality, it`s just an extension of Obama being an empty suit, but it`s easier to find an empty chair than build a suit with nothing in it (would be a cool effect, though).

The main point: Obama continues to demonstrate he`s more interested in golfing, appearning on tv and parying with stars than actually `do the president thing`.

racist or not..It`s pretty bloody stupid.
" I shall hang a chair from the tree in my front yard to demonstrate my anger and disapproval of the present government." Yeah, that`ll show `em. Has he even tied a proper noose?

Right, but that doesn`t make it racist. There are plenty of reasons to hate Obama`s stinking guts without ever considering race.
What`s "racist" about this?
An intellectually bankrupt liberal Democrat reporter SAYS it`s racist! THAT`S what`s racist about it! Haven`t you been paying attention for the past 4 years?

Plus, Southpark already covered the silly topic of "is it racist" far better than we can here in Season 4, Episode 8 "Chef Goes Nanners".

Do I support free speech? Yes. Do I support this man`s right to hang a chair from a tree? Yes. Do I support Westboro Baptist`s right to protest Marine funerals? Yes. Do I like any of it? No. Nor do I like idiots who`ve hung Bush, Clinton, Daddy Bush, Reagan, Carter or Ford, etc., in effigy. That`s just beyond the pale. To pretend this chair doesn`t represent Obama, though? That`s just being wilfully ignorant. The guy admits to it in other articles. Is he allowed? Sure. Is it a dumbass dratnut move? Yes.

chalket-" "hanging" (long associated with racist violence)

Why is "hanging" associated only with racist violence? "Hanging" has been used on horsethieves, murders, drug traffickers, etc. of every race there is. It`s be around for centuries.

Exactly WHY is it `racist`?

chalket-" If he was a white president, I doubt anyone would have even come up with the idea to lynch"

Well the fact that Bush was white, as was Clinton, Reagan and Carter, and each of them was hung in effigy hundreds of times, pretty much disproves that statement.

chalket-"so yes... it is racist"

Nope, it`s just a chair. YOU, on the other hand, appear to harbor some racist tendencies.

"And the only way to be "over" the racist past is to be over it. Simple. I know I am. In a post-racial society, you can`t have different conditions apply to different groups of people based on superficial physical traits. The racial collective doesn`t even exist, it`s imaginary. So it follows, if it`s ok to hang a `white` man in effigy, it`s ok to do it to a biracial person. Different standards cannot exist for different races. That`s racist. By definition. For serious."

We`re not in a post-racial society. That was my point. The new generation like you are. Society is getting there but sadly we are far from being there. Racism will die out with the passing of certain members of the older generations.

I`m sticking up for this guy because we have no idea if he`s racist, just automatically assuming. Refer to my picture of Bush being hanged. It`s the same thing. It`s important that people have the right to free speech without being categorically labeled racist for a rather common practice.

And the only way to be "over" the racist past is to be over it. Simple. I know I am. There are some double standards that people conveniently ignore. History has a lot of horrible racist instances of blacks being compared to monkeys. To do that today still is racist to the older generation. History has a lot of horrible racist instances of black people being lynched. To do that in an effigy today still is racist to the older generation. These double standards will go away over time as the new generation gets further away from our racist past but we are far from being there. Instead of pretending that we are already there why can`t people just admit there are d1ckheads on both sides? It really confuses me when people stick up for racists like this guy. He knew what he was saying in his statement. Pretending he didn`t is disingenuous.

i dont understand the connection, in any case, it`s a shame it`s not the real obama, plus the rest of the government. But, there would be another line of corrupt non-nice individuals standing there waiting to take their place, so it doesn`t matter.

Aw c`mon people, don`t be intentionally dense. It`s the alleged connection between "Empty chair" (now associated with Obama thanks to Clint Eastwood) and "hanging" (long associated with racist violence) that makes it racist. If he was a white president, I doubt anyone would have even come up with the idea to lynch an empty chair, so yes... it is racist. And now that the asshat has added an American flag to his... shall we call it "art installation?" it more than proves he is referring to the President. In poor taste, in my opinion, but hey... free speech, right?

South Park did an episode on almost this exact situation. The racists are the ones who make it about race when it doesn`t have to be.

@Justin9235

It is racist if it is inspired by the fact that the man it is against is of a different race or ethnicity. If the man just happens to be of a different race or ethnicity but that doesn`t contribute or act as a causing agent for the act, then how is that racist?

Thats like saying if you get in an argument with a black person, you`re racist. How dare you disrespect their point of view!

Seriously, we`re posting stories from unknown partisan political blogs now? The only humor here is 5Cats`s statement, "How many of these stories turn out to be faked by Democrats? A VERY high percentage."

First off, it`s not a "hangman`s noose" it`s just a knot.
Secondly: How many of these stories turn out to be faked by Democrats? A VERY high percentage.
Thirdly: dozens, if not hundreds did worse than this during protests against Bush with not a peep of condemnation from the press.

No doubt the IAB Liberal Brigade will have a hissy fit, even if it is proven fake later they`ll not be bothered to notice that...

Oh, and I cannot wait for the first comment to suggest ALL REPUBLICANS THINK THIS after enduring lectures about Muslims being "peaceful" lolz!
