Pretty much true. Make no mistake, higher education is a bubble. Incomes are falling, tuition is rising, there has to be a rip soon. And it`s coming sooner rather than later.

Even with my Master`s from Columbia, not everyone with my degree was able to get a job.

People think of schooling as something it is not. It`s not a guarantee of wealth or even work. The best thing you can get from it is how to think, investigate, converse, etc. about a specific subject.

The desire/will to work is entirely unrelated to school. If you have that, you will always have work. If you don`t have that, you will always struggle. There is one simple rule for this: Always give your employer more usefulness than the dollars you are getting. If he can spend less to get the usefulness you provide elsewhere, then you`re not worth it to them. Sadly, most people think they`re entitled to work and should get paid for sitting on their asses and doing little or nothing.

The REAL problem is that the government has taken over the student loan business.

"So, you want to borrow $200,000 to get a degree in Mid-20th Century Pissed-off Feminist Literature? No problem! Just sign here...and here..."

The fact is, no banker in his right mind would approve that loan, and for good reason. You can still get a good education in America, but it`s buyer (actually, borrower) beware. Otherwise, you will spend the next 20 years paying for a worthless piece of paper.
