    My dad was a pilot. What do you mean "when they have to". They do it when they`re low.

    Seems like the landing gears should DEFINITELY be down at that point in the landing pattern.

    It wasn`t landing, it was doing a low flyover of LA and Orange Counties, so that people could see the shuttle.

    It`s a flyover not a landing, no need for the landing gear to be out.

    It`s bullpoo when airlines charge us for the extra luggage, When a boeing 747 can carry a space shuttle stop asking the customers for one extra baggage..

    You spelled Endeavour wrong. It`s spelled the British way to honour Captain Cook`s ship that discovered Australia and rediscovered New Zealand.

    I work beside Pearson National airport..i can show you a plane every 3 minutes without gear down at that height on approach...secondly that is a pretty dangerous ( and most likely illegal) altitude for a fly by
