Your needle is stuck CrakrJak. Your trick isn`t going to work though. A lie repeated enough time only becomes fact if it comes from a trusted source.

"Sometimes graphs and numbers do not jive with reality. Me and my family`s lives improved greatly after Reagan became president."

I absolutely agree with you. Numbers do not not always equate with experience.

Had you said "Things got better under Reagan" I wouldn`t have argued with you. That is a personal experience and totally subjective. But that is NOT what you said.

You said things that are not open to interpretation or context. You said things that are fact based and your facts were wrong. Plain and simple. No matter how you spin it what you said is simply not true.

I enjoy debating with you. We will rarely agree but you usually add a reasonable counter point. However if it is impossible for you to admit when you are blatantly wrong I don`t know what to say.

markust: And you won`t admit that Obama has his head so buried in fundraising lately that he tells Netanyahu to buzz off, and allows a US ambassador to be killed. Obama is AWOL, off partying and sipping champagne with Jay-Z and Beyonce, while our embassies are attacked.

Btw, Obama tweeted that picture on the 19th, so it`s not like Fox just dug it up to ridicule him.

HG: The fact is that you are far too young to remember what the Carter years were like.

There was a joke back then, Q: "How did JC Pennys get it`s name?" A:"Because of Jimmey Carter, pennies are all you have left to spend."

I remember the gas lines, the `misery index`, stagflation, the factory lay-offs that never ended, widespread union strikes, bell-bottom jeans and the premiere of Star Wars.

I wouldn`t dream of contradicting a WWII generation senior citizen about what it was like in the 40`s nor would I contradict a Baby-boom generation senior citizen about what the 60`s were like. So why are you insulting my intelligence, when I lived it?

Sometimes graphs and numbers do not jive with reality. Me and my family`s lives improved greatly after Reagan became president. Reagan/Bush led the largest peacetime growth boom in American history.

"There were changes, in fact many changes"

In his entire term? Absolutely. He got unemployment of 7.5%. It stayed that way for 9 months. Then it went up to 10.8%. Then it was back down to 7.4% for the 1984 election. He got unemployment back down to what he inherited. Obama has done that already.

But you said: "Reagan inherited a worse and different economy... unemployment over 10%", which was absolutely false.

When I pointed out that it was false you said: "The unemployment rate improved right after Reagan was elected, before he took office", which was absolutely false.

When I pointed out that it was false you said: "I was in my teens at the time, can clearly remember seeing reports of 10% unemployment"

HG: There were changes, in fact many changes. If there hadn`t been any positive changes Reagan wouldn`t have been reelected 49 states to 1.

Doesn`t change the fact that Obama has the worst jobs and economic record since Carter. As well as the only acting ambassador killed since 1979, while on his watch.

markust: Still doesn`t change the fact Obama snubbed Netanyahu and continues too.

And even though his press secretary admitted the Benghazi attack was a terrorist act, Obama still says it was a protest against a stupid video, in a Univision interview.

He even said that he "can’t change Washington from the inside". That`s a pretty good admission of failure right there.

"I noticed your link only shows the `civilian unemployment rate` and doesn`t add in public sector unemployment or those that just gave up looking for work."

OK. But that would be across the board right? So it shows the same for before he was elected to when he was elected, to when he was president. No matter how you spin it there was absolutely no change when he was elected as you said.

"I was in my teens at the time, can clearly remember seeing reports of 10% unemployment, despite what your link says"

So I give you stats directly from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and instead of "guess I was wrong" you`re going with "well 30 years ago I remember seeing a news report when I was a teenager"? Wow.

I have had 5cats and AuburnJunky be man enough to admit they were wrong, clearly that will never happen with you.

The same problem exists today, discouraged workers don`t factor into the unemployment statistics. Only those looking for work do.

I was in my teens at the time, can clearly remember seeing reports of 10% unemployment, despite what your link says (and that was before Fox news even existed, so you can`t blame them).

"HG: The unemployment rate improved right after Reagan was elected, before he took office. Business reacts immediately to good news, and when Romney is elected you`ll likely see the same effect take place. "

How can you say that? It isn`t true. Not even close. Look them up, I`ve given you the link. Here are FACTS:

May 1980: 7.5%
Jul 1980: 7.8%
Sep 1980 7.5%
Nov 1980: 7.5% (Reagan Elected)
Jan 1981: 7.5% (Reagan Inaugurated)
Mar 1981: 7.4%
May 1981: 7.5%

Where is it that "Business reacts immediately to good news"?

I mean how can you come in here and just lie? I have given you the site to check the numbers.

I`m not going to explain my whole medical history, shouldn`t have to. Suffice to say I can`t work and doctors have told me so.

What I got it confused with, was him saying if the economy doesn`t turn around within 3 years, he doesn`t deserve a second term.

Of course, whether or not the economy is turning around is conjecture. He will say it is, I say it isn`t. Some say it isn`t. Some say it is,

HG: Reagan inherited a worse and different economy that Obama did.

There was double digit inflation, 20% interest rates, an energy crisis, and unemployment over 10%. There was no internet then, cars got 10mpg, the average wage was $4.80/hr., manufacturing was the US`s primary economic engine and Pac-man was the most popular video game.

Reagan grew the middle class, created better higher paying jobs and grew our economy.

Obama has shrunk the middle class, created worse part-time jobs and stagnated the economy.

Here is a good one for you. I`d love a response.

During Obama`s 43 whole months in office (Feb 2009 - Aug 2012) the average unemployment rate was 9.12%.

During Reagan`s first 43 whole months in office (Feb 1981 - Aug 1984) the average unemployment rate was 8.76%.

You have said how great Reagan was several times. Their average unemployment rate is a difference of .36% and this is the greatest recession since the great depression.

Do you think .36% is so significant that Reagan is the greatest of all time and Obama is horrible?

HG, all spending bills must originate in the House, and Congress (usually) passes a budget which the president can either sign or veto, i.e., shut down the government. The Republican House has passed a budget every year, but the Senate hasn`t passed one since Obama was elected. The government is being run on a series of continuing resolutions based on FY 2007 which includes "one-time emergency spending" for the Wall St. bailouts and the $800 bil. stimulus which was tacked onto the FY2007 budget and is dishonestly credited to Bush.

Regan couldn`t stop the congressional Democrats from overspending, and the House Republicans can`t stop Obama and Reid.

Bush was a HUGE disappointment. He could have made a real difference, but instead he wanted to "get along" with the Democrats. (BTW, how did that work out for him?) As such we got crap like steel tariffs, Rx drugs, No Child Left Behind, and the Wall St. bailouts -- all, BTW, supported by Democrats.

ROFLMAO!

What the hell do you call Obamacare then? Chief Justice Roberts declared it a tax, and it`s the biggest one in the history of America. Obama also has 43 month of unemployment over 8%, which is more than presidents Truman through GW Bush combined. And the 6 trillion dollars Obama has added to our debt, makes the debt you attribute to Reagan look like child`s play.

You don`t get it and neither does Obama, that`s the problem.
