Teeth are cool. My family has weird teeth things too- sometimes people only have baby teeth, or multiple sets of adult teeth.

SarahofBorg: Do you think that bad teeth would effect someone`s ability to mate or that they would be unable to feed themselves and die?

I`ve thought about this question a lot ... But I think I`ve concluded that teeth are so secondary to human existence (even if modern medicine weren`t involved) that they don`t have a large enough effet on fitness to be removed from physical traits.

There was a kid at my highschool that had 2 rows of teeth. I think it was a birth defect because the hemispheres of his skull were lopsided as well. Bet he could chew food like nobody`s business though.

My bottom teeth were doing this when I was younger, and the dentist just pulled out all my baby teeth in front to give them room to push forward. I looked pretty goofy for a while, but a few years later and braces helped a lot :-)

All it needed was the JAWS theme song. Kid must have been a shark in his prior life.

I have seen patients come in with a single adult tooth erupted in the middle of their palate. We have also had someone come in with such severe calculus buildup on their teeth that their teeth looked like a solid wall all the way across..I felt so bad for the person.

Yea this is the creepiest thing ever. For the skeptics out there if it was shopped it was done by someone that knows quite a bit about the mouth.

Let`s have a round of applause for Kitteh`s caption, "And we shall call him Shark Boy."

That was awesome. =^.^= I`ve said it before, but I`ll say it again: I`m glad you`re back, Kitteh.

@Angel

Perfect teeth, because they wouldn`t make any money off of them? I didn`t have anything THAT bad but had one tooth that grew in behind the other, took forever for them to align properly.

I knew a girl who had one extra tooth in the center of the roof of her mouth.

This is what happens when natural selection is hampered by medical advances. People with bad teeth genetics get treatment and continue to pass on bad teeth genetics.

"His jaw (or specifically his upper jaw, called the maxilla) is narrow, hence the maxillary expander seen on the roof of his mouth (palate). His radiograph would just look crowded because of the overlap of the 2 rows of teeth. P.S. They are not `ingrown` teeth, they are his normal teeth that have erupted (come out) palatally (behind the normal arch basically) and the orthodontist is attempting to get more space in the maxilla with the expander whilst moving some teeth around to allow space for those misplaced teeth."

Oh, well, sh*t.

THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE TO PULL OUT LOOSE TEETH IMMEDIATELY AS A KID. Don`t let your kids wait - this is what could happen.
