Big deal. If even one-tenth of what I hear about high school student behavior is true, the kid deserved it.

You could use it on ugly kids too so that normal people wouldn`t have to look at them.

Let`s hope this is the start of normality re-gaining the power.

I`m ok with the kid wearing that.

The proper punishment for the teacher would be a wrought-iron cone of shame for a month.

Better than having a bible thrown at your head.

What an epic punishment. In fact, I vote for the cone of shame!

I can still remember the days I would have a tennis ball tossed at my head when I fell asleep.

Fill the cone slowly with Cap`n Crunch and milk and watch the comedy ensue.

@Atrayu4u yup, she should just have given the kid a zero. Oh, wait a minute, zeros aren`t allowed.

I`m all for creative punishments, but seriously, we`re not dogs. Sure, it might be embarassing, but that`s the sort of thing you remember and give payback for later in life, even if it`s to the wrong people/innocent people.

Awesome! That teacher shouldn`t be fired, she should get a raise.

My 3rd grade teacher once dealt with a chronic copier-of-others`-work by taping a paper Pinocchio nose over his own proboscis. We all snickered, and 20 minutes later he took it off - point made. No law suits, no trauma, and no more copying other people`s work.
Sure seems like a lo-o-ng time ago...

Oops that`s supposed to say "It may not reflect what they know..."

@uatme I give my students zeroes if they don`t do their work. They may not reflect what they know, but I`ll never know how much they understand because they are too lazy to do the work.

I was just telling someone today how our teachers used to hold public floggings with gym shoes and canes and how one teacher used to punch kids in the head for punishment. How we would have loved to spend a few minutes in a cone instead! :)
