Not his best performance by far. However, no one with an IQ above room temperature is going to vote based on this speech.

I thought he was great. He gave a comedy routine that every `true` comedian has been scared to death to touch, for fear of being labeled `racist`.

What a doddering old fool. Makes me wonder how many takes he needs for each scene in his movies. A turnip could have done a better job at public speaking. And I say this as a huge fan of his movies, this was just sad.

He`s an old man and his delivery may have been doddering. But his points were valid and on the mark. He`s a good guy and loves this country, unlike the leftists in our midst who want to bring the country back to the stone age.

Are you suggesting that 75 (F) is an improper room temperature? I assure you, it`s quite reasonable.

I love the political mudslinging that goes on in the comments on this site.. where both sides accuse the other of actually wanting to harm their country or citizens by voting for the "other side". pfft. it`s pretty much all a load of bollocks presently anyway.

    @Cajun: Why not Gary Johnson?
Because he won`t win. I don`t go as far to suggest that voting for Johnson would be "throwing your vote away" though, since it serves a purpose.

To me, each action we make is a careful calculation of a simple formula: on one side, there is (chance of success) x (potential payoff as determined by the acting individual); the other side is (chance of failure) x (potential consequence of failure).

We act positively (perform the action) when the equation skews towards success, and negatively (choose not to perform the action) when the equation skews towards failure.

Because of the low chance of success, the positive side of the equation does not outweigh the negative side. However, evaluations of "benefits and consequences" are strictly individual, so the associated values I use are unique to me; you`re equation may weigh differently.

@indisguise: Ah, I see what you are saying now. My original jest was towards @chalket as, in his original attempt to be clever, he failed to mention units.

Since his joke allows for Kelvin to be used, I dismissed it as every person in existence has an IQ lower than 297.

@foolsprussia: Romney sat for the bar exam in his home state of Michigan in July 1975, passed it and was admitted to practice law there, but never worked as a lawyer and only considered in case his business career did not work out.

I like Clint and I liked much of what he said.

But I was surprised about his remarks regarding Afghanistan. Do the Republicans want us to pull out of there? (No hidden agenda here, just asking an honest question.) CrakrJak, where do you stand on Afghanistan?

@Patticakes: I`m stumped by your comment, truly. I`m a leftist, a liberal, and a proud Progressive. A SOCIALIST even!

~pauses dramatically for the IAB community to gasp~

How on Earth do you figure leftists like myself want to take America "back to the stone age"?

I like how Clint blamed Afghanistan on Obama. That was fun! Whee! I like how he blamed the debt on Obama. At least I *think* that`s what he was saying. But, in truth, I thought the speech was fine. It wasn`t "traditional", but it`s not like I couldn`t understand his points. I just didn`t like the lies and distortions. I mean, I realize they`re par for the course for both parties, but, laying Afghanistan on Obama? That one was a road too far to me.

Draculya-"they shouldn`t have allowed him to go on and do that to his legacy."

It did absolutely nothing bad to his legacy. The fact, in a country where every president has been subject of some comedian`s routine or sketch at one time or another EXCEPT the present one, that it took Eastwood to lampoon Obama and Liberals will do nothing but bolster his legacy.

And he did it just by using Obama`s words and deeds against him.

I especially loved the fact that it took less than 20 seconds after his speech for the media to determine him `senile` or `confused` or `altering the facts`. Why, it`s almost like that had that PLANNED.

Judging by this, I`d say that Clint probably didn`t have much improvisation in his films that didn`t end up on the cutting room floor.

    Or:
