Link: Owner Of Ferrari 458 Spider Runs Over Cop`s Foot - Naturally, the cop slams the driver to the street. BTW, the driver is the boyfriend of The Hills` Stephanie Pratt.

Lol you can`t just drive off? The cop knew what he was doing, he kept putting his foot there as if he wanted it running over. Should of pulled that handbrake and left it there.

he should have just taken the ticket instead of trying to drive through the cop to avoid it. if you can afford that car then you can afford the parking ticket. but now he will be paying a whole lot more, dumbass

No, the cop was clearly writing a ticket for that car and the non-nice individual driver walked up, and, being all entitled due to being made of daddy`s money, decided he could just basically tell the cop to drat off, which he did by trying to drive away.

The cop, at first, tried to just subtly say, "Hey, hold on, let me finish writing this ticket" by positioning his body half in front of the car. Only a true and complete and entitled non-nice individual would move his car forward at that point. This drater was asking to get slammed.

Guy shouldn`t have attempted to leave he was in the wrong. The cop should of have stood directly in front of the car not stick his foot under the wheel, he probably wouldn`t of tried moving if he had been directly in his path.

HAHA, I gamble with my knees daily. It`s fun.

Looked like steel toe boots. I`m of the impression traffic officers are issued steel toe boots in most metro ares.

Anyway, rather curious about the exchange they had before he entered the car. I doubt the cop said "Go ahead" after the guy asked "Can I move my car?" but you never know. Cop may hate reality TV douche`s as much as I and baited him into a beat down.

Cop`s an idiot obstructing the car. He was out of time writing the ticket, once the owner returned and started the car; should have just accepted that with grace.

By the time the guy is in the car, engine running, he is no longer parked, he is just waiting for the road to be unobstructed. In continuing to write the ticket the cop was just being nasty for the sake of it.

Randomxnp, the driver doesn`t just get to drive away because he shows up before the ticket is finished being written. He parked illegally, and once the cop starts to write the ticket, it needs to be finished. The driver was wrong, period.

In my opinion both did mistakes. Cop should have stood in front of him to block his way instead of putting his foot in front of wheel. That`s not how cops do. And for the guy, if there is a cop, you should be cautioned doing anything. He can clearly see cop`s leg inside his driving path plus as the car moved the cop said something to him for stop but he kept driving. Cop should have arrested him as he wasn`t resisting arrest instead of knocking him down.

Both were wrong. Guy shouldn`t have tried to drive away. Cop shouldn`t have been abusive. I understand him getting pissed off...the guy ran over his foot trying to drive away, after all! But it`s not like he was TRYING to run his foot over. Note that it says on the Police Car door, "Courtesy, Professionalism, Respect". Cop didn`t live up to this, that day. I understand, but still...

Andrew155 this cop is not a good cop, is not doing is job right and is a liar. That in any case don`t exclude the fact that the driver is an idiot. I will never belive in my life about the lie of the foot. You know, putting your feet under a wheel to stop a car just show who you really are " a total imbecile". Oh and btw i don`t think that punching cars is part of the police training. He was just searching a pretext to escalate the situation, that is not what a good cop have to do. You need great professionality to be a cop, ,change job and don`t waste my money if you don`t have this skill.

I`ll believe his foot was actually run over when the doctor says it has been. Cops are trained to keep themselves out of danger as best they can while performing their duties. This cops choice was a poor one. All the same the man tried to leave the scene while an officer told him not to. It`s not a far throw from not pulling over when signaled and he deserves to get in trouble for even trying to roll forward after the officer put himself in the front of the vehicle. All the same they really didn`t take him down that hard and they didn`t beat him half to death so why is this even being blown up. Let the IA (if it`s worth even going that far) and the rich guys very expensive, good lawyer (who guaranteed has this vid) take care of it.

Found it. Was very curious what the initial conversation could`ve been, but now I know it definitely wasn`t "Can I move" "Yes." It wasn`t this because this guy absolutely wasn`t going to avoid a parking ticket by moving the car. It wasn`t a parking violation. Check the end of the video. See anything missing from the licence plate? Clear registration violation.

I do love these "Just stand in front of the car" comments though. The driver didn`t bother to figure out what he was being cited for, otherwise he would`ve pulled out his registration from his glove box. He had NO intention of picking up a ticket and/or assumed he illegally parked instead of just asking. Either way, who the frak stands in front of moving cars? This was no tank and that cop wasn`t chinese.

Scuzoid, the cop was standing beside the car at first, the guy thought he may be able to slip away without incident for whatever dumb found reason, he had a clear path at first. Then the cop did what he did in the video and damn near had his foot run over. If he had stood in front of the vehicle upon seeing the guy entering the vehicle the guy probably would have not attempted to flee because that would of blatantly have meant running over a cop, not worth the risk at all unless you are completely psycho.

Hilarious! Looks like the cop was writing him a parking ticket and he was trying to leave before the cop finished writing it. The description says it was in front of a hotel in a valet spot so it was actually legally parked but the dumba$$ shouldn`t have tried to take off. He should have just taken the ticket, it would be thrown out in court anyway.

@Nocash. Clearly, I`m going to assume I`m NOT dealing with a complete psycho just because of the car he drives.....

Furthermore, if you`re paying attention to the video, douche talks to cop and cop replies before douche ever enter`s his car. Wanna bet what he doesn`t say? `Cause I think it`s pretty clear it is not "Can I get out of this ticket by moving" or anything remotely similar. If douche had a brain, he could`ve asked that and/or what the ticket was for, but he doesn`t.

We have no idea what either say at the start so assuming wont get us anywhere, either way standing in front of the vehicle would deter him a lot more from attempting to leave as apposed to leaning against the side and placing your foot in front of the wheel. (which the driver cant see) Either way the guy got what he deserved and so did the cop I guess, had he gone about it differently maybe he wouldn`t of had his foot run over.

This is actually a really interesting video. Notice near the beginning how the officer positions himself in front of the vehicle after the driver enters the vehicle to leave.

I`m not sure how it is in the US, but it`s my understanding that here in Canada, a parking enforcement officer MAY NOT impede the driver from leaving while a ticket is being issued. If the ticket is complete, but not issued, it is later mailed out. If the ticket is incomplete, it`s cancelled.

By impeding the driver from leaving, the officer may have actually violated the drivers rights and freedoms.

To jaysingrimm from Canada who stated "I`m not sure how it is in the US but...." Ok....#1 What difference does it make if he was a police officer or a parking control officer? No one has the right to flee to avoid a ticket. Even in Canada. Run over a Mounty`s foot and see what happens. #2 "By impeding the driver from leaving, the officer may have actually violated the drivers rights and freedoms?" Last time I checked Canada wasn`t a total anarchy. You can be detained by the police. That`s why we have them. You are basically saying in Canada if someone can run away fast enough they don`t get a ticket??? You need to lay off the Molson my confused canuck friend.

I agree with @jaysingrimm. Let`s not make this a class war. The guy was leaving the scene peacefully before the ticket had been completed. The cop obstructed the car and got run over. In UK law the cop is in the wrong.

I`ve had my foot run over before, by bigger cars than that, and I`m not saying it didn`t hurt, but I think the cop is over dramatizing the `injury.` He also probably shouldn`t have been standing in front of a moving vehicle. This is basic survival. You know, looking at the video closer, the front of the car doesn`t lift up, not even a little bit, and the cop pulled his foot away right before the wheel would have gone over the foot. If anything, he may have just got the edge of the shoe, or was just slightly pinned between the car and the road, when he pulled it away.

What the hell was that cop doing? He tried to block the Ferrari with his body and constantly putting his foot under the front tire. IMHO, he was trying to get run over and i suspect the cop has re-inforced tips in his shoes. My behaviour changes similarly when i use steel tip boots, i block 100kg flightcases from rolling and catch slow moving ones with my foot. When i`m wearing sneakers or army boots without steel tip, i keep my feet as far away from heavy moving objects... Idiot cop, hope he gets suspended.

To kcpd2000: First off, it does matter whether he was a police officer or parking bi-law. Parking bi-law officers are not allowed to carry weapons and only have as much authority to make arrests as any other citizen. They do however typically have a red button on their radio speaker mic to dispatch police to their location in emergencies. In this case it appears that it was indeed a police officer. But that doesn`t change the fact the officer didn`t have just cause to try to prevent him from leaving.

Last time I checked, a parking infraction is a far cry away from a Felony, or Misdemeanor. It isn`t even a moving violation. What reason did the officer have PRIOR to having his foot run over to unlawfully detain the driver?

Also, as I stated, completed tickets are mailed to the driver if they drive away. It is only when the ticket isn`t complete, ie. "lic. number not recorded" that they are cancelled, as there is no way to deliver them.

Understand, I agree that AFTER the officer`s foot was run over, he of course had the right to detain him. I even feel that he used what could be considered "reasonable force" to arrest someone who was resisting. I just don`t believe the officer had the right to stop him from driving off to begin with. At no point in time BEFORE having his foot run over does the officer tell the driver to remain and why. I should think he would be legally obligated to.

Oh, and I prefer Labatt Blue to that piss water that has sadly borrowed a great name.

So many people confused with how traffic laws work.

Firstly, traffic laws, those hired to enforce them, and the general issue uniform for these people differ state to state. Wouldn`t be surprised if there was some variance province to province either.

Anyway, some states allow you to drive off regardless of whether the ticked is completed or not. Some require signatures, some don`t. Some allow you to get out of parking tickets if you move before it`s completed, some don`t. Finally, this WAS NOT a parking ticket. His car had no visible registration, meaning the car can be impounded in nearly any state. No visible registration could mean no actual registration. No actual means no insurance. No insurance means he`s not allowed to drive it anywhere. The cop can use his discretion to allow the auto owner to leave the scene to go get registration/insurance, but the cop sorta needs the story to allow that.

Which is why I was curious about the initial two line conversation they had, but in the end, it doesn`t really matter because it`s the auto owner`s responsibility to display registration, not the cops. The owner should`ve known he needed to show proof of registration and probably insurance for good measure, but he made zero effort to show any of that. He probably has amazing lawyers who`ll do their best to beat the assault with a deadly weapon charges, but the reason the cop was there to begin with is entirely the owner`s fault and he would not have been able to get off of a registration citation even if he didn`t "run over the cops foot." Which I myself doubt actually happened.

What a little snot POS. You can see by the way he walks up to the car that he thinks he`s better than the situation. Got a fraction of what he deserved.

This was just on the news here in NY, he is NYPD, and was writing tickets because the car had no front license plate (which is required in NY) and no registration/inspection stickers on the windshield. It would have ended up being about $250.00 in fines but now he`s charged with assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct and a few other charges. NY POST Article/Video

Is it standard procedure for a cop to put his foot under the tire of a car? I have no love for the dippoo driver, but IMO if you are stupid enuf to think you can stop a car with your foot, then you deserve what happens next.
