Ahahaha !! Patchouly`s vid was great ! Wall-to-wall nerds, with one Asian, one female, and one hippie thrown in. When landing was confirmed, so much happiness mixed in with social awkwardness. Huge accomplishment, huge nerdgasm !!

"I though NASA was shut down?"
Future programs are slashed, but the mars rovers launched some time ago so they are still funded.

Only in America will you spend 19 billion on NASA, and 80 billion on food stamps for the fattest Americans.

Just think of how good it would be for science and progress if we reallocated that money and made NASA 5 times its size.

I can`t stand it when people criticize exploration.. We`ve got most of the planet covered, it is time to go elsewhere. Imagine what people have thought all through history when someone had the bright idea to sail across an ocean, or venture off into unknown lands. It`s really no different. It`s our nature to explore, if we went against our desire to know what else is out there we would still be stuck in Africa.

I watched it, it was pretty cool. I`m sure even someone less nerdy than myself would have been at least a little bit excited. Also, please tell me someone else got to see mohawk guy. ;-)
