My consolation is knowing that I haven`t wasted hundreds of hours on useless ventures like television or the interweb...

Angilion: Well when things do happen, and prophecies come true, there were always mockers and scorners who got caught with their pants down so to speak.

It`s never a wise thing to mock and scorn a warning of things to come. However, neither is it good to put all the eggs in one basket regarding a warning of things to come.

It is something to consider, not to set in concrete for one way or another; because nobody knows the future. We can only wait and see, hope for the best, and be prepared for the worst.
The prophecies of our world are very interesting to study, because while they are from all around the world, they have all been harmonious in warning of severe social, political, economical and worldly turmoil; something which we are seeing today.
They`ve been very far from harmonious in dating it - they cover the entire span of recorded history and probably long before then. Hundreds have already passed without anything remarkable happening - why should your prophecy being any different to all of those?

Yes, we`re seeing turmoil today. Just like many other days for at least all of recorded history. Just as in those times and places, prophecies spring up and people read current signs into old prophecies, all because they want something special to happen (usually a fulfillment of their religion).

And it never does.

Is it time to post the partial list of some of the known "final days" prophecies that were, obviously, wrong? It`s only a partial list, just a hundred or two.

There are always people, especially religious people, saying it`s coming up to the end. They so badly want something special to happen.

12 minutes of this crap? How much can I endure...

Sinkholes? LOLZ!

OK: 5 minutes in and all I can say is: the reason floods are a BIG problem these days is because there`s TOO MANY HUMANS and we`ve built on all the safe land: now we`re building in flood-prone and unsafe place too.

6 minutes: Greenland melt = "unprecidented" ...and... "it hasn`t happened since 1889." Plz to check dictionary, k-thx!

That`s all I can stand! WEATHER HAPPENS GET USED TO IT!!!

It is something to consider, no doubt, because a change is coming. The prophecies of our world are very interesting to study, because while they are from all around the world, they have all been harmonious in warning of severe social, political, economical and worldly turmoil; something which we are seeing today. It wouldn`t surprise me if this is a lead up to some type of awakening, or a paradigm shift in our way of life.

The way we`re doing things on this planet may have worked up until now, but it will need to be reworked in order to truly move into the future. You only need to read a news site to see how our ways are flawed and inefficient; burdened with greed, selfishness, apathy, hate, arrogance, and so many other forms of evil.

A change is coming, and what that change is or when it will happen, only time will tell. But one thing is for sure, for mankind to continue on into the future, the Earth will need harmony and love.

south africa snowfall
The coldest temperatures have been recorded about 250 kilometers northeast of Cape Town, where the average annual minimum temperature is -6.1º C. Record snowfalls (almost fifty centimeters) occurred in July 1994 in mountainous areas bordering Lesotho.

and Penguins live there

Move to the Pacific NW (Oregon and Washington). We have lots of Temperate Rain Forests which help keep the weather temperate, water, cheap electricity, LOTS of crops that we export across the world which almost never have weather setbacks (floods or drought). And, if the seas rise Seattle is the 2nd hilliest city in the US and Portland isn`t on the coast.

Just be careful of volcanic eruptions (see Mt. Saint Helens)

Hurricane Issac was a tropical storm that barely made it to hurricane status. Cat 1`s are week. So far from a Cat 5.

And Earthquakes are weather? I`m not a meteorologist, but I will wager that it isn`t. I would wager that it is not even effected by weather at all. Madness.

We`ve got nothing to do with it? Oh god, the ignorance is blinding!

Sure, the climate does change without us, but extremely slowly. Recent studies have shown that the Ice caps have melted to their smallest since records began. It`s 30% natural (it being the summer) but 70% us, with our cars, planes and fossil fuels. Do you know who`s going to benefit from the ice caps melting? The people who cause the problem. Oil companies will now find it easier to locate and drill the oil under the ice caps.

If you think that global warming doesn`t exist then you need a good slap round the face. You`re part of the problem, face up to it instead of pretending that your actions have no consequences.

jack, you are partly right, climate chaznge happens with out us too.. we did accelerate it by a very large number. there have been estamtes on how much faster it is going based on the polar caps melting, greenland`s ice melting and well.. lots of other stuff.. thing is, it seems to be going a lot faster then the worst of these estimates..
But you are right, it would have happened anyway.. just, over a period of 5.00 to 10.000 years, rather then 50 years.

I hope they are wrong, but....well, they are wrong, on the wrong side of being wrong

God sent a hurricane to warn of end times.
If there were hurricanes at this time of year every year
well that`s just a coincidence. THIS hurricane is a sign from god!

"No. No it`s not. Global weather is pointing towards climate change caused by us."

No. No it`s not. Climate change happens with or without us. We`ve got nothing to do with it.
