A Texan, His Truck And His Bumper Stickers [Pic]

Not sure if this says more about Texas or gun laws or both. What"s right, what"s wrong--everyone has a answer for this.

Hey geckohead, I am in Texas and can`t wait to leave. I am in Farmers Branch in North DFW. I have said it to many Texans faces, on the net, in bars ect. I always get the same reaction as your display. I then always retort with.. I am not from here. I was not one of the ones who allowed the Texas goverment to take away your right to bear arms.. you did that. Have fun applying for a concealed permit, because thats the only way you can carry.

yusuksomuch - I was being ironic and humorous, I really don`t condemn people I don`t even know. Mind you, I do admit to finding the "gun ho" attitude a little bewildering.

A happy man. Squeezing a gun in one hand and his sperm cannon in the other.

No worries people.
I spend a lot of time out at the gun range. From my experience, fat rednecks are usually the guys that own a 100 guns, and can`t hit the broad side of a barn with a single one of them.

But keep things like "bump-fire" stocks legal, and make obtaining a license for fully auto damn hard to get, but possible.
I think certain restrictions can be made to certain guns, like military arms.
What constitutes a military arm though?

An AR-15 or AK-47 is usually what people consider "Military", when they are just rifles.

On the other hand, you can make a basic .22 squirrel rifle fully automatic at minimal cost and make it as effective as a military rifle.

I say no fully auto for citizens. That`s it. That`s your only regulation.

OldOllie: "Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it."

This is the best (and almost assuredly most common) reason people buy a gun. If a man breaks into my home with a gun, I better have something better than a knife.

Meh, I think certain restrictions can be made to certain guns, like military arms. Yet I think those restrictions should be made by the states not the feds. There is a lot more reason to own a gun in states like Texas, Oregon, or Alaska, then in states like Hawaii, Connecticut, or Maryland.
Still, until then, I make sure that I have the best possible odds.

"you guys own guns that you don`t even use."

not a hunting fan, eh?

One of the reasons the US voted against the UN`s Arms Trade Treaty.. along with countries like Iran, Iraq, Israel, China, Pakistan, Russia..

Blah blah blah. Another Texan running his mouth via a bumper sticker about his big bad state and all its guns. Look up the facts about Texas gun laws, open carry, guns per capita, CHL/CCW per capita. Don`t take my word for it, look it up. You may be surprised.

@Crabes: I try to shoot at least 20 rounds per week on each of my guns.

H&K .45
AR-15
Mossberg 12 gauge pump (GANGSTA!)
Glock 9mm

It gets expensive.

Ammo prices on any weapon that`s needed for self protection and even hunting are extremely reasonable. Ammo prices for idiot guns are no longer reasonable. I guess that`s the free market at work.
