@Linkenberger

That makes me think of one of my favourite "House" quotes,

"If you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people."

Damn, I`m actually curious now briandarf. Tell us!

Though in all honesty, I don`t understand how Scientology still exists. I mean it has been (repeatedly) proven to be a fraud, has little to no benefits and proavtively encourages psychotic levels of abuse. As a society we`ve also made it (for the most part) socially taboo to be a scientologist, which seems to have done little to damage it.

Oh balls I think I may have Christianity and Scientology mixed up. Oh well, point still stands.

Actually CrakrJak, aside from the Million year contract, I can`t see much difference. They`re not expecting you to divorce your family, just those members of your family that don`t subscribe to the tenants of Scientology.

>>>Bullsh|t Gerry, I know of no mainstream Christian church that demands you divorce your family, enslaves people, makes them sign billion year contracts or brainwashes their adherents. <<<

So, I take it you`ve never heard of Jehovah`s Witnesses, Islam or Christianity then? Look up the way Magdelenes were treated in living memory in Ireland if you`re deluded enough to think that your own religion of Christianity is above this sort of abusive behaviour.

But of course you don`t *see* it: you`re *within* it, and that`s what brainwashing is. This woman and her mother didn`t see what Scientology were doing whilst she was in their grasp.

Until some of the jokers running these slavery programmes end up in jail doing serious time for the abuse they inflict on vulnerable people, nothing will change.

All religion is bullsht, but Scientology has the aroma of a chimpanzee`s post-curry diarrhoea.
