It`s a whale shark. The scoop up plankton with that huge maw. Sad it`s dead.

Sadly, it will make a whole lot of sushi.
That`s just a baby. A slow moving filter feeder.

Its not a mammal, although the name is confusing (whale shark) it`s actually a shark not a whale.

Its no surprise its a small one, there aren`t many big whale sharks seen anymore. TL trending downward, swim with one whilst you can.

What good is a whale shark to these SOBs? Can`t they leave peaceful, inedible creatures alone?

There was a time when I used to consider IAB a gathering place for somewhat intelligent people. But if it`s come down to posting photos of whale sharks with captions asking "what kind of sea monster is this?", then I`m pretty sure the sight has hit rock bottom.

Anyone who`s seen more than 7 minutes of disvocery channel should be able to recognize this shark.

If it`s inedible it wouldn`t be fished. Also how many non-peaceful animals or vegetables have you eaten? I`ll say crocodile for me and that`s about it

...and its a LITTLE one. I`ll bet they found it dead or dying. I`m pretty sure no one actually went out and caught it.
