This is a fu.cking STUPID attempt at more forum reactions IAB!!!

How is this bad parenting. This is a trained whale and the kid gets to touch it and sit on it for a picture he will have for the rest of his life. I do not see a single thing wring with this!! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that this LUCKY boy will likely remember forever.

Seriously, since it was you fancy that posted it, WTMFH!!!

I think the "joke" is: everyone in the picture, including the ORCA (get it right people!) look happy, EXCEPT poor Little Chad!

    ORCA! It`s not a `whale` ok?

Plus there`s like 1 (ONE!) known Orca attack on humans. Of course other`s might have been nom-nomed without us knowing it...

uscbadfish; actually it`s the largest species of dolphin.
Also, 5cats, considering there`s a wikipedia page entitled Killer whale attacks on humans then the number of attacks is sure to be a bit more than 1.

When you have no idea about zoology and someone tells you that an Orca is not a whale, don`t announce to the world that you are an idiot.

And I`m with those thinking these really are parents of the year. I`d love that now, let alone when I was 5.

If you want to get pissy, here`s a quote from a biologist -
Dolphins are whales. In fact, the killer whale is just a big dolphin! Technically, the toothed-whale family Delphinidae contains all of the dolphins except the freshwater species. The real differences are between toothed whales (including dolphins) and baleen whales.

An Orca is a dolphin and all dolphins are whales. Yet not all whales are dolphins. Sort of like how all squares are rectangles yet not all rectangles are squares.

    ...I just became more bored...

    ...What?

    I don`t get it...

That person obviously works there and knows what she`s doing. If she had the kid lying down in front of the whale, then I can understand.

Yup, the three people who were by orca Tilikum worked him too, they knew what they were doing. Yet apparently missed the point that they are large carnivores. Letting your child sit on an orca (who are nicknamed killer whales for a reason) is pretty much the same as putting your kid on the back of a tiger, it probably won`t eat you, but the chances that it will are way too high.

Yeah, idk, animals are animals. When people get hurt by big animals, do you think they were expecting it? No, they probably thought it was perfectly trustworthy. The fact is that you never know what`s going through an animal`s head, and going `oh, well I didn`t expect *that* to happen` afterwards won`t change anything...and all for what, a cool photo-op? I`m happy just petting them on the nose thank you very much. At least then if it snaps I`ll only risk losing a finger at most. They do have skin like wet rubber though. It`s kind of cool.
