And the type of people that are chosen for assassination. Weird when you think about it in this way.

"Malcolm X peaceful? Lolno."
He had a moment of clarity during his pilgrimage.
Totally changed what he was saying and doing after meeting a Muslim whom I think was Canadian.

The reason this is so is because when someone kills an @$$hole, they don`t call it "assassination"; they just say, "Somebody killed that @$$hole."

& he never held an office, (he was offered, he refused) had no power and thus can not be held responsible for separation.

Man was. Selfless and so pure in his intention that people around him were shamed into doing the right thing.
He was a Mahatma.

@nnoamfer. There is truth to all you say, `In his younger days inSouth Africa`. he was a typical for his class, race & time.
He though went through this amazing transformation into a selfless, quite courage that was inspiring to the entire nation of people and later leaders of other oppressed places.
Both sides of my family were freedom fighters. My relatives were exactly like him. Well educated, high class & wealthy land owners who gave up their cushy little lives for the cause. Gandhi was a game changer. My great uncle was present during a meetings when Indian leaders discussed the post independence division of power structure of India. Gandhi was adamant about the rights of minority especially Muslims and the lower classes of the Indian society. He was assassinated by a Hindu(very Sadlly also from my cast & state) who held him responsible for siding with Muslim leaders in the debate.

@sutra46, Read the book "Behind the mask of divinity". Gandhi wasn`t responsible for the liberation of India, it was the people who fought for it.

He also supported the "divide and rule" policy, and was an outspoken racist against African people. He called them kaffirs and believed a jail room shouldn`t be shared with him. He was also a horrible family man.

But if we talk about leading a nation, again, he wasn`t good ay all, he wasn`t responsible for the liberation of India, it was people like Bhagat Singh.

Tyrants get assassinated all the time. Carlin was just a comedian of no particular insight, people. I can`t see why the internet has declared him a saint for his sound-bites of faux wisdom.

@nnoamfer, ? Really you picked Gandhi to bad mouth?
Man stopped eating for 21 days for the cause he beloved in. Do you have anywhere near that passion & conviction for anything that affects you personally? He didn`t have to do any of the things he did but he changed the destiny of a sub- continent. South Africa & States changed thanks to the influence ofnon-violence movements, he was compassion incarnate. A human being who evolved in a lifetime.
But you . You type your critique . Bet you were stuffing your mouth as you wrote it too. Bad boy.

@cobrakiller is correct! If you`re FAMOUS then it`s "assassination". If you`re a nobody? It`s a statistic.

Malcom X said we should live together in peace? I must have missed THAT speech...

Osama Bin Laden was assassinated too... fyi.

Ghandi is also full of poo. Do some research on him, you`ll find he wasn`t such a great person.

Yeah, the Malcolm X thing was pretty weird. Plus I can name any number of very non-peaceloving individuals who were assassinated.

Basically, everyone gets assassinated. But since we live in a Democratic society, there have been no fascists or communists of any significance to get assassinated.

But what about Reagan? Didn`t they try to assassinate him?

@Gerry1of1

The reason why he was assassinated was because he started going against those ideals and started teaching people tolerance and peace... Then BAM!!

Malcome X didn`t speak of Peace and Harmony...He was basically an educated Black supremacist who had a well known intolerance for white people

I wouldn`t have put Malcolm X in the "peacelovers" category as he promoted black power "by any means necessary".
