Link: Freddie Mercury Vs. Beyonce - We put up Freddie`s Bohemian Rhapsody against Beyonce`s Run The World (Girls). Is there any hope for modern music?

Is it just me, or is Freddie Mercury basically Christiano Ronaldo with a mustache? Seriously, look at the photo again. Only Freddie was slightly less gay.

Pop music has pretty much always been crap. In 1969, we had "Chewy, Chewy" and "Sugar, Sugar." Fortunately, we also had "In the Court of the Crimson King" and "Ummagumma."

I just don`t get tired of listening to Queen. Their songs tickle a part of my brain that I`m not fully in contact with.

    Fun times :-)

    Beyonce song stats:
    6 writers / 3 lines = 2 writers per line.
    8 basic words / 6 writers = 1.33 recurring words per writer.
How do they split the royalties?

While I agree Bohemian Rhapsody is a far superior song (Beyonce is a dancer, not a singer really), judging a song on it`s lyrics is silly. Yes Beyonce`s lyrics are bad but that is, by a long way, the least egregious aspect of that turdstorm of a pop song.

You are leaving out all the horrible music from the 70`s and going with their best stuff. Trust me, there was no shortage of drivel.

    Look up "Fly Robin, Fly"..

Number one hit in 1976 Vs number one hit in 2006

Comparing a great song to an irritating plastic pop song can work both ways.

Yep, that would be would what I hate about the music world. People who are just paid to sing, and worse than that, is the ones who can`t even sing and yet get handed albums to sell as their own.

In all fairness, that nonsense dates back to Elvis, he only ever wrote a couple songs, rest were handed to him on a silver platter.

just goes to show the youth of today are sheep, they don`t listen to what they like, they listen to what they think they should like, and its a shame, just be yourself, it doesn`t matter if we don`t all like the same things, just be yourself, oh and damn i love our british music legends lol

This point can also be proven the other way around. There are many songs that have been brought out in the last few years who people find compelling because of their lyrics and how the song makes them feel, which was also written and produced by the singer. where as I can think of a few songs of the past that just makes me think....wow. Although I have to say I do massively admire Freddie.
