I wish people would stop contributing to the dumb-ass Moon Hoax conspiracy asshats.

We went, we landed, we haven`t been back because government = STUPID.

There are raw materials just laying there on the ground. No environment to worry about poluting. Someone`s going to do it sometime. Wonder who will be first.

Very narrow-minded to say this sort of space exploration had very little gain. If only we would spend even 10% of what we do on entitlements on Space exploration.

Too bad we`re a 2nd rate space power now.

Beleive me, had we started leaving landing modules all around the lunarscape there`d be a bunch of radicals carrying sign and passing legislation to protect the purity of the lunar environment.

If you`re going to call the moon landing fake, why not call everything fake? 9/11 didn`t happen, 3000 people didn`t die, it`s just a government conspiracy because we wanted an excuse to kill people for oil. It`s all holywood and everyone who said their loved ones died is lying.
Makes just as much sense, after all.

The "Moon Landing Is Fake" myth is kept going by CoInTelPro, the US`s Counter Intelligence Program in order to hide the REAL conspiracy behind the moon landings:
Ancient, alien moon bases on the `dark side`!!

But you didn`t hear that from me...

Why would being concerned about polluting the moon be a foolish position to take? If we were at the point where we were actually doing it?

A properly ambitious space programme might one day lead to capturing extra-terrestrial resources or even eventually to an escape route from a doomed star but first we need to do the science. You don`t contaminate that which you want to study.

Where are the stars? Where`s the blast crater from the rocket? Or did the lander have anti gravity?

Where are the stars? Where`s the blast crater from the rocket? Or did the lander have anti gravity?

I expect this to be a waste of my time, because anyone who`d ask those questions is either trolling or determinedly ignorant as a matter of faith and will ignore all answers, but what the hell. It`s only a few minutes of my time.

1a) How many stars do you see during the day? I`m pretty sure it`s 1 - the sun.

1b) If you take a photo in a very brightly, very harshly lit area, you can`t capture far fainter light sources. Any exposure that would show the stars would be completely whited out by the bright, harsh light.

2a) How the hell do you think you make a controlled landing? Landings that leave blast craters are crashes.

2b) A low-powered rocket exhaust on an airless body would blow away only the dust directly below it - there`s no air to be moved that would then move dust further away.

We went, we landed, we haven`t been back because government = STUPID.

The moon landings had one main purpose - to one-up the USSR. Do it a few times to get the point across: "It wasn`t just luck. We can do it any time we like. You can`t do it at all. Our system is superior to yours. Suck it, losers."

Once that was done, there wasn`t (and still isn`t) enough reason to do it again. It`s wildly expensive, quite dangerous and not really of any use. What can a human do on the moon today that can`t be done by a probe or even a camera in orbit?

It`s not even close to practical to mine it yet, and even that would probably be automated.

Research Topics: Aperture, Exposure, Contrast, Film Speed, Shutter Speed, Photographic Film. Get back to us when you have a clue.

Simply put: The difference in light intensity between the surface and stars is such that for any film with a low enough sensitivity not burn out from the surface would not be sensitive enough to register the stars.

Go outside now, take a picture of the moon, and tell me how many stars their are in your picture.

    Where are all the stars?
Hollywood mostly, although there`s a bunch in New York City too.
They also tend to vacation in Europe or various tropical islands, so in the summertime they get spread out quite a lot.

You can tell it`s fake because the crosshairs show where they were aligning the pixels. Photoshop wasn`t as good back then.

where are all the stars? well answer me this - do you see stars in the daytime on earth? what time was it on the moon? and photoshop didn`t exist in 1969. our calculators today are much more powerful than the computers in those ships. hell they had slide rules for back up. so it may have been a miracle but man actually walked on the moon. I was 10 and I witnessed everything as it happened. I even have a pic of Armstrong going down the ladder on the tv. it really happened dudes . . .

America may have put its manned space flight program on hold. But its *squirreled* space flight program is making great strides.
