Sometimes, scientists are just too damn picky.

Mountain Goat - looks like a goat. Horns like a goat. Sounds like a goat...it`s a fricken goat. "technically" it`s lumped with cattle, gazzeles etc. But it`s still a damn goat.

King Cobra - looks like a cobra. venemous like a cobra. makes a hood like a cobra... so what`s the problem? It`s a fricken cobra.

King cobra is a member of the elapidae, the family that includes all cobra genera. Its the sole member of its genus..because its mafu*king*hoosive and its king of its tribe because it eats other cobras. whichever way you paint it, or rather, regardless of which authority you agree with, its a f**King cobra.

@ MattPrince - Blackhead Gulls really do have black heads and Killer Whales actually kill to eat so . . . are you sure you get the concept of this thread?

How about Sea Horses and Sea Lions?

No I got it. Killer whale`s a dolphin taxonomically - going by the vague rules of the thread.

And this is a black-headed gull

and this is a med. gull

Now I may be str8. and not be able to name as many shades of colour as you, but I do know the difference between brown and black.

Temmink made this point in 1820 when he named the latter larus melanocephalus.

They be wrong about King Cobra, they are not a member of genus Naja, they are their own genus, so that is technically correct, though it is disputed. King refers to the fact they eats other snakes.
