How in the hell did we go backwards in design from this design? Have you seen the Buick out there now?

Almost as cool, and just a bit more practical:

baradhili: Most American cars are pooe going around corners, but I find it funny that Jeremy Clarkson drives a Ford GT.

I`m not sure why people are complaining about practicality - as top gear says - american cars don`t go around corners :)

How do you get to the engine? Or, you know, into the car? I am thinking that this isnt real, it looks to be a concept design.
Good styling, but being of that era, probably handles like a cart-sprung marshmallow
More like a marshmallow-sprung cart, would be my guess.

That being said, Detroit always used to come out the the coolest concept cars, but for some inexplicable reason, they never built them for sale. I bet they could have sold at least 20,000 of these, but they only build one. Idiots.

It has no doors, turn signals or roof, I`d call it... impractical!

Real sweet ride though! Most concept cars LOOK fantastic but were never intended for public use.

this was never a production car. it was a custom car. might ass well put the Oscar Mayer wiener mobile up with the same tag line.

I don`t really care for the look of this particular car, but I do like how cars back then had that futuristic streamlined look.

My guess is because it looks like a wet turd. Just a guess, though.
