Because he wasn`t at the time? I don`t understand why I have to keep repeating myself: If all Zimmerman did was follow him (without issuing serious vocal threats), then he IS NOT THE AGGRESSOR.

Crakrjak: And that`s all it is...circumstantial, based on accounts...some of which have changed over the course of time. Besides, once you`ve been told the police are on their way, why would anyone get out of their car if someone was acting "beserk"?

Why the hell do people keep saying "Stand your ground"? He isn`t even using that as his defense.

It`s a cut and dry self defense case.

You weren`t there CJ, There`s plenty of evidence against Zimmerman. Primarily that he didn`t "stand his ground" he stalked and confronted. Let the trial happen and put a sock in your pronouncements of innocence. You`re starting to sound like a lunatic Canadian cat lover. A trial affords justice. It`s what you`d expect for your child had he been murdered by a racist, wanna-be cop.

jtrebowski: Martin was the aggressor and all the physical evidence, eyewitness accounts and circumstantial evidence points to a troubled teen with a drug problem acting paranoid and going berserk.

Duckboy87: "I ask you, and anyone, how is he following someone who he doesn`t know where they are?"

The same way a cop does when he doesn`t know where his suspect is. You don`t have to know where he is, but if you`re looking for him, you are "pursuing" him, which means that he can no longer use the "self-defense" argyment under the SYG law, anymore than I can claim "assault" if I get punced after climbing into a boxing ring. Zimmerman was not in any "imminent danger" until he got out of his car. Read the SYG law again.

Duckboy: 2:28 he is clearly going after him. That makes him the aggressor. If he had stayed in his car, Trayvon would`ve gone home, and he`d still be alive.

jtr, please cite where where you got the information where Z defied the dispatcher`s orders; orders, that I may remind you, that he needn`t follow.

At about 3:36 Zimmerman says "Oh crap, I didn`t want to give that all out (referring to his home address); I don`t know where this kid is."

YouTube of Z`s call

I ask you, and anyone, how is he following someone who he doesn`t know where they are?

@Gerry: I live in Orlando. The money was a well known fact reported by the local stations and on FB weeks ago. How Zimmerman declared himself ingigent is beyond me, considering O`Meara )his attourney) is very well respected.

An armed man who had no legal authority to do started a conflict. End of story.

This boils down to the online defense fund.
The Zimmerman family said they didn`t have money.
The judge counts this as money.
But the defense fund is solely for his defense, not his bail so should it count?

McGovern1981: "Has he not cooperated? Innocent until proven guilty anyone?"

That`s what i don`t get. People want to persecute some guy just because he hunts down thugs, and they automatically judge him just because he didn`t listen to the police dispatcher, but meanwhile, they automatically defend some THUG with GOLD TEETH wearing a HOODIE and carrying SKITTLE which can be used for DRUGS because he BLA...uh...uhbecause he was wearin....because he had ICED TEA AND THATS A INGREDIENT IN DRUGS AND....un...hold on......wait...look..we know that Trayvon attacked the guy who was chasing him first because the black kid got caught with trace amounts of POT in his bag, and he liked to brag he could sell drugs if he wanted to. Now, THAT`S proof, RIGHT???? In court, right??? Oh, and if you`re a fuxling know-it-all liberal with background in law, don`t answer, because..because...just because!

What a crock of poo when a guy shoots a teen in the chest and isn`t even arrested. What is the United States?? Sickening.

DingDingDong, do you remember Casey Anthony? She was tried not 20 miles from where will stand trial. Same greater community (the Orlando/Sanford area is essentially contiguous). So, the idea that he won`t get a fair trial, while not unfounded based on history, is a bit of a stretch based on recent outcomes, where juries have been watching CSI and similar shows and want cold, hard evidence.

Don`t you think, if he was going to run, he would have already?

He was wearing an ankle monitor and a cop stationed outside. He couldn`t go outside for fear of being recognized by a mob. He wasn`t going anywhere but now we get to pay for food and healthcare. yeah

His bail was revoked because he perjured himself regarding not only his financial assets, but possession of a passport, which he had a second, illegal copy of.
Ya gets caught, ya sits in the pokey- at least until a hearing to determine possible new bail, inability to leave the jurisdiction, electronic monitoring, etc.

jamie76: thus proving that once again, Zimm cannot be trusted at all.

That`s exactly why Zimmerman turned himself in...

this is about the fact that Zimmerman LIED to a judge.

you lie to a judge, they throw your ass in jail.

thus proving that once again, Zimm cannot be trusted at all.

Bail should fit the seriousness of the crime but it has to be proportionate to the accused`s ability to pay. Otherwise, the rich would always make bail and the poor never would. That doesn`t seem fair, does it? $100,000 bail is nothing to a rich guy but a lot to a poor guy.

@nettech,

bail is paid to ensure that you don`t flee to avoid your trial. those who have more money are higher risks at fleeing, thus their bail must be set higher. so yes, bail based on financial ability makes perfect sense.

Should bail fit the seriousness of the charges, or be based on financial ability? In other words, should someone who is poor get a lower bail set than someone who is rich when faced with the same charges?

haha that sounds kinda funny to me:

"Are you broke?" - Yes... - "off to your house, maybe you`ll die of hunger there"

"Are you broke?" - No... - "off to jail, with meals paid by the taxpayers"
