Oh and, "Close one" Markust?

It was a pretty wide margin. 90% reporting it`s 54 46 in favor of Walker.

Unions are antiquated, and no longer necessary.

This recall was a power grab by the liberals in Wisconsin, and it failed.

They will now all run back to Illinois with their tail between their legs.

madest-"Gave it`s CEO a 60% raise.."

Actually, his salary was raised 32% (you only get 42% if you count his stock options, too, but don`t let a little thing like facts get in your way.)

If you take his increase in salary, and spread it out to ALL of Catipiller employees, they`d get an extra 1/10th of a cent each hour (or about a nickel a week).

The majority of his compensation is from Stock Options (not salary). He was given Stock Options as an Incentive. If the stock went up, he made more. If they went down, he lost money.

Now you agree, the stock going up is a good thing, right?

But to you, he`s `Evil Rich...kill him`.

Please. You have been brainwashed into thinking that collective bargaining means only unions get to negotiate. That`s not the case. The right is attempting to destroy unions at the behest of their corporate donors. Forget Wisconsin this is what big business wants. Caterpillar is making record profits. Stocks up 64cents in the first quarter. Gave it`s CEO a 60% raise. The thanks to Caterpillar workers? Wage concessions, no raises, elimination of the defined benefits pension program, weakened seniority rights and higher contributions for health care when in fact Obamacare has saved Caterpillar $90million in it`s first year alone. Business is much more than your self righteous beliefs of "hard work" and you`ll be fine. You`ll only be as fine as the man lets you be. I don`t work for a union. Never have, but I am aware that we`d all be slaves working in horrible conditions without them.

madest-"Simple thoughts from simple minds."

Yes, madest. I realize that you believe that such concepts as `hard work` and `productive` are simple, naive concepts. After all, to consider one person `productive` would imply that others are `not productive`, and that doesn`t fit your socialist concepts (no to mention, pointing out that someone is `non productive` might hurt their self-esteem, and we can`t do that any more.)

Simple works. Prove to someone you`re productive, you are in a better position to negotiate. That`s much more noble that `you`ll negotiate or we`ll shut this place down` tactics of unions.

BTW: Seems Wisconsin doesn`t agree with you:

madest-"Nobody cares where you work or what you do."

I realize that no UNION cares what I do, as I am a hard-working and productive worker. I do not NEED a Union in order to keep a job.

Unions are only of use to people who are such crappy workers that they can`t keep a job on thier own.

When a Union FIGHTS for a former teacher and CONVICTED CHILD MOLESTER serving 10 years in prison to continue to get a paycheck for over THREE YEARS, that`s the point where the Union demonstrates it serves no useful purpose.

madest-"Why are unions "thugs"?"

So, are you that stupid, just refuse to see or simply believe that any non-union supporter deserves to get beat?

Sheet Metal Union Member:

Ask Kenneth Gladney if he thinks the SEIU members who savagely attacked him were `thugs`.

ILWU Thugs:

To see the HISTORY of Union thugary, I suggest you look up:
The Haymarket Square Incident
The Assassination of former Idaho Governor Frank Steunenberg
Pittston Coal strike
NY Daily News Strike

MeGrendel, Nobody cares where you work or what you do. Because you`re incapable of seeing any good in unions (or anything else) doesn`t mean they`re not good, it means you`re blind and dumb.

imnakdjumpme-"ou think its more important to take away their rights completely"

Collective bargaining is not a `right`.

A union is only beneficial to those who can`t do their job.

A few of my experiences being a member of a union:

A fellow `worker` who filed a grievance because no one woke him up so he could take his break.

Having a boss tell me, "You`re the bes chemist we have so I`d love to keep you, but unfortunately you have the least seniority."

Seeing an idiot who could not read get an operator`s position that required it, just because it was `his turn`. So they had to give him an `assistant` that actually DID the job while he sat on his ass (and the asst. made less).

Being instructed by other `Union Brothers` to slow down my work so as not to make them look bad, under threat of bodily harm.

So now I work non-union jobs. I get raises based on MY merrit and productivity. My compensation &
OK I will ask again... Would someone please explain to me why you public pension pushers and union thugs think I/we (taxpayers) are responsible for your guaranteed retirement plan?? Screw the rest of the people as long as you get yours!
---------
Why are unions "thugs"? Your 40hr work week, vacations, safe workplace and paid holidays (and what used to be) a living wage are thanks to unions. The fact is Wisconsin unions gave every concession requested by the governor. But that wasn`t good enough for the people who own Walker. They want unions dead and that`s just wrong because if we lose unions we all become slaves to the man.

MeGrendel, didnt he effectively take away the unions right to even collectively bargain on the matters? You think its more important to take away their rights completely than to allow them to operate under stricter limitations? Just because you dont like unions doesnt mean you can take it that far.

madest-"successfully disenfranchised state workers "

I.E. Got the schools systems our from under the Union`s Boot. Prior to this `disenfranchisement`, school districts were forced to buy their health insurance through a Teacher Union owned company. Now that the school districts can shop around with different companies, most school districts are saving around $3 Million a year on insurance. The Teacher Union owned insurance company quickly dropped it`s rates by 60% to compete on the open market. (Yeah, when they HAVE to buy from you, you can jack up your prices).

On the subject of the picture: I this pictured showed up and it was MY truck, that would be the LAST time my son got to borrow it.

Scott is a tea bagger extraodinaire. He repealed equal pay for women. Three anti-choice laws. Union-buster, Killed a High-speed rail project & it`s jobs. Voter suppression laws, ripped off a wounded Vets fund, Gutted education to give his donors tax breaks. The list is too lenghty. If we don`t recall him today I`m moving to Oregon.
Who is Scott Walker..?
--------
He`s the Governor of the Cheese head state (AKA Wisconsin). Seems he`s in the pocket of big business and has successfully disenfranchised state workers from collective bargaining (union lingo for workers having a say in their pay). He`s up for recall elections today in fact. Apparently it doesn`t matter if he wins or loses he`s under investigation by the justice department for having state workers campaign for him while on the job and a bevy of other misdeeds.
