jendrian, I wouldn`t care at all either, except you said "mods or ex-mods come up with the same thing with a slight difference. I`m not saying that`s what happened here, but it`s a little bit suspicious that I submitted "TheOatmeal creator made a new site called BearFood.com, which I believe everyone should check out", and now like a tenth of bearfood`s content keeps appearing on IAB." which means you think the mods are doing something `suspicious`...that`s why I looked.(Just like I do anytime someone accuses a mod, ex. 5cats vs madest)
You can look at your history if you want but if you submitted it it didn`t make it. When you submit anything it shows us the link. No matter what your title was it would have bearfood.com in the link, if you were linking us to that site, and none of yours do.

If you don`t care that much, why did you bring it up, and WORST OF ALL accuse mods of wrong doing? Us mods get enough crap already.

@Jendrian - It might surprise you to learn that I, like you, keep tabs on The Oatmeal. And I discovered he`d set up Bearfood. As hell, I like it so I check it often. I saw a couple links I liked, so I subbed them here.

Everything on the internet comes form somewhere else. If you see a picture, there`s a good chance it`s already done the rounds.

Kitteh, I didn`t submit it specifically like that, if you want I can probably try to find in my history exactly how it was that I submitted it, but I really don`t care that much

jendrian I went and checked it out and you have never submitted "TheOatmeal creator made a new site called BearFood.com, which I believe everyone should check out" or anything with "theoatmeal" in the title.
So I don`t believe there is a `bearfood` conspiracy. I have never even heard of the site myself, but I love theoatmeal so I plan to check it out, as do many on here, I am sure, now that you have brought it up.

Just thought you might want to know. ;-)
MacGuffin, for someone who claims not to peruse the internet a lot, your daily routine seems exhausting to me; IAB and IHC are the only sites I check almost daily.
I don`t visit most of them daily; those are just the only sites I visit at any time. And I missed the BBC News site out. :) Sometimes it feels like the internet`s become so much smaller compared to years gone by, and there are less and less places I go in it.

I hadn`t noticed the `suggest a site` section you pointed out below before. Looks like that`s just IAB trawling for leads to places they can look for content, rather than it actually being for the stated ostensible purpose of suggesting other sites though, eh?
You do realize you don`t HAVE to put all of your personal info on Facebook, right?
Not only that, but I realise you don`t have to put *any* of it on there.

MacGuffin, for someone who claims not to peruse the internet a lot, your daily routine seems exhausting to me; IAB and IHC are the only sites I check almost daily.

But that aside, IAB already has this:

on the side, which directs people to much more popular sites, so failure to include one more "friendly" site wouldn`t be that big of an issue

You know, I`m sure, that it makes better commercial sense for IAB to post individual links, rather than to post your single suggested link to a competing site; I`m sure it`s nothing personal.

@jen: I hear what you`re saying. But, tbh, my internet experience consists of:

1) IAB
2) BBC iPlayer
3) Wikipedia
4) YouTube
5) My own professional technical Blog
6) Lots of technical articles
7) The occasional Google Image search for Henry Simmons. Mmmmm. OK, Diet Coke break over, back to IAB.

Despite being a fairly decent software developer by profession, including having designed and built some fairly innovative websites, the truth is I don`t use the interwebs much myself. Whilst I`ve heard of 4chan, et al, I don`t personally visit them. I`m not even on Facebook because I don`t get the purpose of plastering your whole life over the internet. I`m therefore glad that there`s someone perusing the web for me, and depositing the more interesting titbits here for my subsequent delectation.

@MacGuffin, well not really, you may visit IAB, iheartchaos.com, bearfood.com, oddee.com, 9gag.com, etc, and get your share of some repeated links which you won`t mind as long as funny stuff and other interesting content is in the site as well.

My comment stemmed more from the fact that I keep submitting stuff and somehow, at the very same time, mods or ex-mods come up with the same thing with a slight difference. I`m not saying that`s what happened here, but it`s a little bit suspicious that I submitted "TheOatmeal creator made a new site called BearFood.com, which I believe everyone should check out", and now like a tenth of bearfood`s content keeps appearing on IAB.

I`m not upset, I`m glad the content`s here regardless of who posts it, I was just trying to bring awareness that BF exists.
I know Jendrian, I`m a bad man. I totally ripped this off of the internets. :(
That`s kind of the whole premise of this site, though, isn`t it? It`s not like any of the other links posted are 100% never-seen-anywhere-else-before original*.

* Except for my Sofa King link, which was, and which the mods fecked up when they posted it, and that, following therapy, I`m very nearly over.

@Buiadh: this is a funny post!

@Gottamgear: sometimes you just have to let people have their moment. Let me guess, you like telling 5 year old`s that Santa don`t exist? ;-/

@Buiadh no problem. Seems to happen a lot on here on Sundays imo. But that`s also why your buddy schecter5 down there posted his "///////" comment, all your posts had no subtitles but had //////////// instead.

@Gottamgear - No of course I`m not. But I was just making a point.

Thanks for clearing it up.

@Buiadh sorry to burst your bubble but it went live about 3 hours ago and had no pic or thumbnail. It got pulled down when a mod realized it, I guess. Yours and about 5 others submissions. That`s when and you got the 500 hits and the low rating. Are you really on here to be popular?

It`s funny that this has had over 500 hits just from sitting on my profile for the best part of a week ready to go up onto the site.

I must be popular!
