I remember back in the day (read: a year ago) The ratio was nearly 1 conservative, to 10 liberals, calling names and being hateful.

@Prussia:

Wide Receiver = 450 guns, that were not used in any crimes as far as we know...

Fast & Furious = 20,000 guns that at least one was used to KILL A US BORDER PATROL AGENT.

One of these things is not like the other thing. One of these things is, not the same......

Executive privilege protects communications with the president. That means either Obama was involved (which he has denied), or the privilege claim is bogus. Take your pick, but those are your only choices.

`And do YOU realize that Operation Wide Receiver and Operation Fast & Furious are TWO SEPERATE operations?`

I am aware. I`m not making any excuses for the program. I`m merely refuting the absurd conspiracy theory espoused by you and Crakrjak that Obama started the Fast and Furious program to try and convince Americans that we need gun control. Stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and think for yourself.

@FoolsPrussia

And do YOU realize that Operation Wide Receiver and Operation Fast & Furious are TWO SEPERATE operations? (one clue might be the fact that they are named seperately)

And do YOU ALSO realize that while Holder attempted to say that the Bush Attourney General was fully aware of Fast & Furious (that did not begin until AFTER Obama was sworn in), when asked to provide PROOF, Holder had to retract that statement (oops, another `misstatement of fact`, what other people would call a `lie`.)

Do you guys realize that the ATF gunwalking operation began in 2006? That`s two years before Obama became president.

February 2006:

`With assurance from ATF "that Mexican officials would be conducting surveillance or interdictions when guns got to the other side of the border", Detty would sell a total of about 450 guns during the operation. These included AR-15s, semi-automatic AK-pattern rifles, and Colt .38s. The vast majority of the guns were eventually lost as they moved into Mexico.`

Operation Wide Receiver

FoolsPrussia: Not only did Obama say that the DC gun ban was constitutional, before it was overthrown by the SCOTUS, he had AG Holder announce their intention to permanently reinstate the so-called "assault" weapons ban that expired in 2004. Obama also supported HR 2640 (the "Veterans Disarmament Act"), which became law in 2007 and permanently strips gun ownership rights from U.S. military veterans whom they deemed to have PTSD or ADHD.

If that weren`t enough there`s HR 45 which would create a government database of gun owners, make you a criminal if you don`t register your gun(s), criminalize the act of moving your residence without reporting it to the government, require a photo ID gun license, requires a thumbprint, training, and disclosure of gun storage method, would make a criminal of you if your gun is lost or stolen and you don`t report it - and on top of all that, it would require each gun owner to pay a fee for all of this reaming!

FoolsPrussia-``he had a great opportunity to do so after Gabby Giffards was shot, but he never tried.`

Oh he, and the left, tried. Right up until the time the shooter was found out to be a wacked-out lefty nut-job. They couldn`t attack him without revealing how left he really was, and how much his ramblings match the leftist agenda.

They STILL tried to blame the Right, but it made those that tried look even more like idiots.

`this was an Obama ploy to demonize gun dealers and falsely accuse the whole gun industry of arming the drug cartels.`

This is why I laughed at your Obama/Nixon picture. That`s such an incredible stretch of the imagination. The Fast and Furious program is moronic, but Obama has done nothing, absolutely nothing to signal that he wants stricter gun laws. If he wanted to do something about gun control, he had a great opportunity to do so after Gabby Giffords was shot, but he never tried.

MeGrendel: Is correct, this was an Obama ploy to demonize gun dealers and falsely accuse the whole gun industry of arming the drug cartels. They would`ve followed up by demanding more anti-gun laws. We have enough anti-gun laws already, what we need are anti-weasel-politician laws.

This sort of entrapment oriented politics is exactly what we don`t need. Holder allowed guns to walk for political gain, Brian Terry and others paid a terrible price for his malfeasance.

Holder has been caught lying under oath multiple time:

"I probably heard about F&F for the first time in the last few weeks"-Holder (e-mails prove he had known about it for almost a year).

Holder claimed that it started under the Bush AG, then, when asked to provide proof, had to retract that statement this week.

Holder claimed that an e-mail that contained the phrase `Fast & Furious Program` was, in fact, not talking about Fast & Furious.

They had to formally withdraw a letter that stated that the ATF did not sanction the sale of assault weapons for the program.

The only difference is that when a Democrat lies under oath, it`s classified as a `misstatement of facts` and is overlooked.

Obama`s administration was using F&F to set up a case to strengthen gun laws. It blew up in his face and he`s dancing as hard as he can to make sure it never comes to light.

Fort Sumter flag.

markust123-"If a news station has to push and push and push a story on a daily basis for almost a year in order for it to get it any attention from other news station there might not be a story there."

Except when said other news stations have a set policy of refusing to air anything that would put the Obama administration in bad light.

Remember, during Bush, when the media went into a frenzy when Iraq deaths reached 2,000? (14 news stories and 24 briefs). Well, have you seen the same response when the deaths in Afghanistan reached 2,000 last week? (what? you hadn`t heard? ya don`t say!)

One of the coolest people I have ever known, someone I have known for 30 years, someone who lived with my family for a year in high school, killed herself with a gun Monday so I may not be thinking too clearly. I don`t blame the gun or gun rights in any way for her death though. I blame myself for not doing enough to get her through this bad patch. My family and I could have done more.

"Putting guns in the hands of criminals is exactly what gun control enthusisits preach against but seem to be willing to do behind closed doors to further the cause."

Exactly they preach out one side of their mouth against putting guns in the hands of criminals, which I am all about, but in the same breath they want looser gun laws.

And for the record I am disgusted in the whole Fast and Furious failed program. It was a huge mistake. I don`t know what the hell the people running this program were thinking.

And also I am not a huge anti-gun nut. My brother has a couple of guns. I go shooting with him sometimes. I love shooting his 357 Magnum.

@eddy666, "It IS a news story, but it just so happens that the other two big news stations have a heavy liberal bias. That`s why the didn`t run a story that would make their idol look bad."

You pretend to be a moderate but you completely give yourself away that you are a neo-con when you repeat the lie that the other two main news stations have a heavy liberal bias and idolize Obama. I would give you that MSNBC does. But CNN still tries to follow the standards of journalism. They have to, they are world wide. The other thing that gives you away that you are a neo-con is whenever there is a post of Obama doing something good you flood the post with distractions to take away from the accomplishment. If I post even the slightest praise for Obama you go into a complete comment frenzy. That is a total Karl Rove trick and why I have zero respect for people like you. And why for the most part I ignore your posts. Kind of hard when you see your name.

Let me get this straight, gun control advocates will go to the grave protecting their rights to carry a weapon. To them deaths are never the fault of the gun but of the person using the gun. Never. They will never give in to this argument. But when Obama is involved it is the fault of the gun. I don`t think so hypocrites. And that is why this story is an overhyped Fox News created controversy that was not picked up for months by other news sources. The only reason it was picked up is Obama finally used Executive Privilege. All news sources love a controversy and that is one.

There is a heavily skewed bias for support to the left here at IAB.
And usually when there is a post that supports the right, there are two posts that support the left on the same subject.
kitteh`s secret implies that there will be at least one rebuttal to this post.

@Zeegrr60 - and people say birthers should give up already. You`re not even from the states, and you can`t let go of "the election was rigged".

I try to see things from both points of view, but I can simply not back Obama at all. Like most politicians, he is full of double talk. What boggles my mind is how many people still back him after he hasn`t followed through on nearly any of his promises.

Here he is saying executive privelege is wrong

Here he is saying he could fix the economy in 3 years or he wouldn`t run for re-election

This parody had great potential, but it wasn`t executed very well. Also, I`m pretty sure lots of Americans weren`t happy with the healthcare system and wanted change, but the Obama administration just drated it up. Anyways, I will agree that Obama is pretty damn arrogant. Not really for a lot of the reasons in this video, though.

Sure - Twilight sucks. That doesn`t make other pooty books less pooty.

Obviously it`s racism! Who really cares if the Attorney Gerneral of the USA ignores the law? Gets people killed? Lies under oath?

Not the Democrats, they only care when a Republican "might have" done something, not when one of their own ACTUALLY does.

I would say the same if you were for Obama. I do not come here to be persuaded how to vote or watch I AB become another Fox News and spread BS or MSNBC and the do the same.

I think it might be time for like minded members to have a talk about what we can do about this issue...I wonder how the advertiser here would feel if members started to complain about the FOX NEWS like demeanor that IAB has taken?

The only news I get is a daily run through of CNN.com, Foxnews.com and MSNBC.com. With the three I can kind of get to a truth reading all sides. Fox News has had a story on this on their main page every day for as long as this came out - seams like a year. CNN wouldn`t even touch this stinker until I believe this week. Fast & Furious is a Fox News created controversy. The idea of the program was horribly stupid but so is the idea of a news station being able to create a controversy. It really is the end of true journalism.

@JDplaysFF: Internet! Making idiots voices heard since 1992!

Arrogence and selfishness from unwarranted self importance, caused by being able to speak your mind online loudly to the other idiots in the world who agree with you... means everyone thinks they know everything.
They can say who is/isn`t guilty (Zimmerman), what is/isn`t real (Aliens) and how to do everything from dealing justice (Police Videos) to run a rapidly changing country (Obama).

Amazing what one man thinks he is capable of if he thinks enough people will listen to his nonsence.
Obama may be the perfect poster boy for your country, but by far not the most arrogant.
