and marijuana has indeed caused problems.
Aside from people driving while high (which isn`t marijuana`s fault) the only `problems` caused have been by the prohibition of marijuana, not the weed itself.

Alright. Calm down. I deleted it. Next time if you want to discuss it, be ready for the results.

GuiStuie, they didn`t say it was the cause of his behaviour, and marijuana has indeed caused problems. Not on the scale of other drugs, no, but it isn`t the greatest thing on the planet.

You don`t necessarily need drugs to be a crazy motherf.ucker.

Oh yes. Blame hemp. The one plant that has been grown for as long as hops(if not longer) and has never caused problems but instead fixed millions of problems.

Given the publicity involved I think they would have given this a pretty broad brush chromatography and mass-spectrometry screening of his blood to pick up anything that shouldn`t be there. Can`t see how a few chemical tweaks are going to hide an amphetamine derivative from that sort of scrutiny.

Whats funny is you actually think it is bath salts.

It is a known drug that was packaged as bathsalts in order to get it into the country. This gave it the bath sat nickname that most people now know it by.

Thayre not actual bath salts.

"No Bath Salts For Face-Eating Zombie Guy..."

Not necessarily. The thing with "bath salts" is that the chemical components are constantly being changed. Once the medical community identifies the active ingredient and the government makes it illegal, the manufacturers modify the chemical molecule to make it slightly different, thus skirting around the illegality.
While not a chemist, I would surmise that if the M.E. did not know how to find the exact chemical they are looking for, they may not find it. Perhaps the "new" chemical doesn`t react to the reagents used to search for the previous illegal chemical.

I haven`t seen any articles that are putting an anti-pot spin on this. I`m sure there probably are some, but maybe you pot smokers are just being paranoid? ;-)

Nothing is insinuating that marijuana causes this, it obviously doesn`t(I can`t say I`ve ever felt the urge to eat a face after smoking it anyway), but to state he had no drugs in his body would be a lie, it`s just a fact that needs to be mentioned for the story to make any sense.

Yeah, they claimed people can trip out on bath salts and the media ran with it. Just like that cool drug called "Jenkem" the kids were all using about five years ago, remember that?

"And nothing in this article is damning weed."

Exactly- though some people may read that into it. If this man did not, in fact, use any drugs other than marijuana, then he clearly has some severe underlying mental illness. Even if he was under the influence of bath salts, meth, or PCP, mental illness is likely a factor. But anybody who could believe that marijuana is capable of causing this type of behavior in an otherwise sane person has no knowledge whatsoever of its effects- first hand or otherwise.

I read this article this morning and was APPALLED at the fact that either this is either just another attempt at anti-pot propaganda, or the new agencies collectively decided to just f.ucking make poo up to explain how synthetic drugs are bad. Im starting to think this entire story is bullsh.it and none of it ever happened. Its just a large attack by state sponsored medias to try and sway the American people`s mind to think what they want us to think.

im mean, if there is NO evidence of it, then who the hell gave the go ahead to report this EN MASS to the public that is was bath salts?

Seriously these dumbfu.cks are just plain making sh.it up now. No credibility whatsoever.

They do this for a living. I -think- they know how to identify bath salts.

And nothing in this article is damning weed.

I am sure everyone here knows what a bunch of ridiculous anti-pot sensationalism this article is but it is also awful reporting. Bath salts being designer drugs, they don`t represent any specific compound or group of compounds, it is just a street term. That being said, the more commonly studied compounds used in bath salts are highly unstable and tend to not show up in toxicology reports, where as THC can be stored in fat tissue for months.

@McGovern: Exactly. All these pot-smoking degenerates have me huddled in my basement white-knuckled hanging onto my seal club. If only there was something I could take to calm my nerves and help me relax... ;-)

How did they get the results so quickly when it took like 6-8 weeks for the Michael Jackson & Whitney Huoston autoposies?

Then again, it`s Florida so they probably tested for actual bath salts. The kind you pour in the tub, not the new drug.
