And the other difference is that the US doesn`t use 220 for regular appliances. We use 110 for most things.

Yeah,Ireland use 240v 13A supplies as well as the UK, and yes, it is a shame that ours don`t look like faces.

Britain has different sockets to the rest of Europe (can`t remember if Ireland uses them aswell?). Unfortunately ours don`t look like a face...

@Moriachik - there are many types of 220V sockets (actually 230V in European Union) and the smiling ones are exclusive for Denmark.

North America`s electrical distribution sucks. Over double the wire cost per installation which uses more metals and plastics. And USA with 50Hz! What`s that all about?

We need 240 Volts at user level. Less amperage is good for the environment!

Ours make sense though. Much larger area that you can push into and it will still go into the plug. Denmarks pretty much have to be dead on. I do wish ours looked happier, though.

Yeah, real smart to make electric sockets look like happy faces, seems like that would make them more attractive to kids to electrocute themselves.

The USA is more concerned about having metal prongs stuck into our eyes and mouths?
