When I first heard that the cops wanted to charge GZ that night, it didn`t make any sense to me. Then I saw the cop, and now it makes perfect sense.
The thing that bothers me the most is the 911 call where you hear the sound of what sounds like a little boy screaming for his life. It sounds nothing like Zimmerman.
Since neither Martin nor Zimmerman were little boys, or boys of any age, there are two possible explanations:

1) There was a third person involved, a young child. Somehow, this has been entirely kept secret from everyone despite the fact that millions of people have heard phone call.

2) A man being attacked, in fear for his life, panicking and screaming, does not necessarily sound the same as he does in normal speech.

Personally, I think (2) is very much more likely than (1). I am interested in why you consider (1) to be more likely, or even at all plausible.

Screaming will almost certainly be something you associate totally with children and possibly women, but certainly not men. So you hear screaming and assume it can`t be a man.
Hate crime legislation has its place, when handled correctly. Consider two scenarios:

1: Bob murders a man who slept with his wife.
2: Frank murders a man because he`s of a certain ethnicity that Frank does not like.

Let`s assume that both reasons are true. Let`s say Bob and Frank both freely admit to the reasons behind their crimes.

If you were deciding if they were safe to be back out in public, which would you say was more dangerous? Bob, who is likely to murder someone only if they sleep with his wife; a very specific condition that may never occur again, or Frank, who is likely to encounter many people of that ethnicity on a regular basis?
Depends how hot Bob`s wife is. And how much of a slut she is.

If only Trayvon had been wearing this hoodie he never would have been shot.

The harsher sentence for Frank would be more for public protection, than for punishment, as the likelihood of him reoffending, all else being equal, is higher.

Is it going to be an Off Broadway production?

Hate crimes should be done away with. It just separates people further. Mainly white straight males from everyone else. It`s a nice idea in theory but in practice it just lands people longer jail terms because someone thinks they only did it based on race/sex/religion. Really, isn`t any crime of violence a hate crime, which is why it`s redundant to me.

Black guy beats a white guy, just a local crime. White guy beats a black guy, it becomes a federal crime. They should get the same jail time but they won`t.

Yes it does. If a black kid is killed it MUST be that he`s an innocent hero and the bad white man must be a racist. But it turned out Zimmerman wasn`t white but hispanic. No bother, the police were white so blame them for not making an arrest.

Then, after protesting and putting a million dollar bounty out for Zimmerman, fearful white politicians caved into the nearly all black lynch mob and had Zimmerman arrested even though legal experts have said their are no grounds for an arrest.

Yes, this country is full of racists, but don`t assume it`s racism against blacks.

The police had already had him tell the same story 3 times at the Police Station. After a few times any story sounds rehearsed.

He`s going to jail and will live in solitary confinement for the duration, because if he goes into general population he`s probably get murdered inside of an hour.

Jamie,
"the evidence is that he shot and killed an uarmed teenager that was not bothering him at all. that is murder no matter how you slice it."
You don`t know that. The only definite info is that zimmerman called 911 about a suspicious kid. Who approached who is not known. It is just as likely Zimmerman`s account is correct. Just as unlikely as well, but until there is a witness who says differant, all we have is Zimmermans account.

Forensics backs up his story. Trayvons injuries, besides the bullet hole, were his scraped knuckles from pounding Zimmerman`s head.
The only witness so far saw Trayvon on top of Zimmerman.
The voice on the 911 tape yelling "Help Help" is zimmerman not martin.

that is murder no matter how you slice it.

AND YES PEOPLE you have the right to defend yourself, which is what the teen was doing when a man with a gun stalked him late at night.

this case exposes the racist feelings in society so well...yet no one will see it or admit it.

The money makes him look like a bad guy, which has nothing to do with the shooting. We have Zimmermans account, and no other evidence to the contrary so I say ACQUIT unless they get some evidence that proves guilt.

I thought he was a "White Latin" racist? He can`t be telling the truth if he`s a white profiler!

Ask MSNBC, they`ll tell you.

Self defense - plain and simple. George was looking out for his neighbors, making sure Trayvon wasn`t casing apartments because he didn`t recognize him. Thank you George, we need more people like you.

His account seems to be fairly consistent. You do have the right to defend yourself. I guess osme would say he should have just let himself be shot.
He seems to recount the story with a bit of regret. The way the media depicted him, he`s a savage monster.
His story is consistent and the way the victim acted was consistent with a lot of today`s youth.

Innocent until proven guilty means some guilty will walk due to lack of evidence. It is a concept with the attempt to not imprison the innocent. I have seen nothing to refute Zimmerman`s consistent story. This is a tragic happening, but I`m not sure how much tax payers money I would waste trying to bring murder charges against Zimmerman, because they won`t yield a guilty verdict.

I don`t know about the case, but I have learned something very important.

Exxon Mobil gasoline works at the molecular level to remove deposits and clean intake valves. It helps my engine get better fuel economy and leave behind fewer emissions. It`s how they make gasoline work smarter for me.

His story has been somewhat consistent, which is actually pretty decent for a case like this. Also, his version of the story in this video doesn`t seem to exaggerate the head wounds or beating much. I kind of having a feeling that he is being honest with the police in this video. I think Zimmerman reacted prematurely for someone with a concealed weapon license and training, but it`s not premature enough to warrant murder charges in my opinion. As for Treyvon, assuming this version of the story is reasonably accurate, that`s just the kind of thing that happens to you when you pick fights like this. He died too young and I feel for his family, but that kind of attitude and lifestyle never leads to happy endings.

Ladies and Gentlemen! A worlds first. An internet debate ends with one side admiting they where wrong...and actually says thanks. Contrary to popular belief, AJ, that shows you do have a touch of class.

Nice job Kitteh. I think it`s fair for everyone to start relaxing and let the court system over look all the information including the ones we aren`t privy to know.

Following the lines of logic I will just write that if Zimmerman listened to the 911 dispatcher and stayed in his car, none of this would have happened.

MacGuffin:

The money thing was a legal bear trap.

It was an online donation page that wasn`t opened in their name, but the court attributed it to them, even though they never formally accepted it.

They never lied about the amount of money they had, but since they had access to the over $200k in the fund online, they got hammered.

It has nothing to do with the Trayvon case FWIW. They haven`t even been charged with perjury.

He even said he didn`t do it and everything. All he and the missus need to do now to clear up that whole perjuring themselves over their financial situation thing is turn out their pockets to show they`re empty, and that will be the end of it.
