Whew, nature is f*cking weird. Anyone else ever have to dissect cats or frogs or anything like that in biology class?

5Cats - there`s always hope.
"IF" he would take us back after the shoddy way he`s been treated.

As a kid, I remember my uncle in 3rd or 4th year Biology doing a home dissection of a cat with his lab partner. All I could see was that it was a cat, and wondered where it had come from. Was it a lost pet, a stray needing a home...? 8-(

My teacher would aim the pigs at people when he was coming by to check their work, and push on their bladder, which would shoot preserving liquid at us. He could only do it to a few people before the whole class caught on, though, as we were in a giant U shape.

It`s disgusting sure but it`s also fascinating. I have 3 cats too.

Gerry--

nope! we keep them in fairly strong preservatives and spray them down with even more preservatives. every now and then we have to fight the battle of the mold---but we always win :) they honestly have been looking really good for the past year now.

@ Gerry:

I did a cat for anatomy/physiology in college, but my class was the last one to do it. They stopped doing cat dissections because each cat costs about $2000 and they didn`t want to spend the money on it. I now help them dissect human cadavers, instead. We have three, each lasting several years for students to observe.

I didn`t get to do the cat. That was Bio 2. I only got to do animal organs, earthworms, a rat, frogs.. umm I think that`s it.

I`ve had to dissect a cat. It wasn`t pregnant, but it was perhaps one of the coolest things I`ve ever done.

They used disect frogs and cats in high school science class. Now days the kids are too big-a-pussies to do it, plus PeTa would sh*t kittens.

We did a frog, and later an Emu.

Our teacher told us not to cut the stomach or the small intestine. At the end of class she let me do it...should have listened to her.

I had a dream about a kitten last night DD:

I dissected a frog (fun!) and a pig (disgusting!). I`m really glad I didn`t get one of the cat dissecting teachers. <_<

This is remarkably well preserved. Also [email protected] reference, I knew it was coming.

This is Pmarron`s. He keeps it on the mantel above his fireplace. (Which is fueled with burning kittens, by the way.)

How is nature weird? It`s just the insides of a cat someone killed when it was pregnant.
