Tri`s and Cats are pricier to build but overall more stable ... tris being even more stable (in a straight line)then cats or mono hulls. You get way more speed for your boat length, mainly due to not having a huge fricken keel, so over all you can pack way more putang on a tri and get to the bars faster.

@spreekiller thats some nice thinking there, it has nothing to do with having a keel though. think leverage. think distance of force to point of contact. which is also why cats and tri`s suck donkeytail compared to a monohull, the force is exerted where the "floater" connects with the mail hull. basicly these things are good for nice weather sailing. get a few waves and say bye bye.

I would be so scared to fall off that. Then I would have to tread water till they came back to get me.

That`s wicked. Definately not for rookies. I have spent alot of my life on the water, but not on sail boats. Do it right, buy a big motor.

i`d have to go nude `cause there`s not enough room for all the changes of pants that ride would require.

That`s not a boat; it`s a carbon fibre coffin for five.
