All you can eat is all you can eat. Cutting him off is false advertisement. On the other hand, every business reserves the right to refuse service to anyone (before they actually START doing business with him). They`re perfectly within their right to not do business with a man whose going to eat them out of business or refuse product/service to someone with an unpaid tab. They chose to stop serving him mid-meal instead. The restaurant held all the cards, and played them completely wrong.

"All you can eat" means all you care to eat, not "all we care to serve you". Yes, he`s fat. No, he shouldn`t eat that much. None of that matters. If you offer AYCE, you`d better damn well be ready to back it up!

The Simpsons episode 67 (New Kid on the block) "Homer orders the all-you-can-eat and literally eats everything, continuing to eat well past closing time and completely taking unfair advantage of the offer. Captain McAllister finally kicks a struggling Homer out after midnight"

Also, addendum:

Relying on self-regulation hasn`t worked since the 1920`s, and we ALL know how THAT ended.
Yes, that`s sane lets have the governmet dictate all aspects of our lives they run things so well.
Yes, that`s totally what I mean, because the government was involved in this in the least.

I called him a fat consumer pig because a BUSINESS threw him out for being a fatass and he was trying to act like they were in the wrong.

I don`t see how the government was involved in his being a fat consumer pig. Or the business throwing him out.

But if straw men are all you have, then have a nice day.

While it`s insane he can eat that much, this is the risk all-you-can-eat restaurants take. Otherwise, they need to specifically say what the limit is. If they DIDN`T specify a limit, then that`s false advertising. If Sketcher`s can get sued for the whole Shape-Ups fiasco, then this buffet can get sued for this.

"I read about a rstaurant in England (I think Indian) which had an AYCE buffet, go back as often as you want, pile your plate as high as you want, but with the condition that if you had any food left on your plate you agreed to a £5 donation to Oxfam."

Yeah this is becoming more popular... I saw this quite frequently in Asia actually!
If you think limiting what people can do would solve anything your a blind, deaf and mute dumbass.
If you think waiting for "fat and happy" f*ckers like this to volunteer to quit eating businesses out of business, driving up health care costs, and bitching that they`re being discriminated against for being disgusting by choice, then you`re a lost cause.

Relying on people to self-regulate is clearly failing to keep anything in check.

If you think limiting what people can do would solve anything your a blind, deaf and mute dumbass. Sounds like in your perfect world we`d live in bubble and the government would dictate every aspect of our lives from what to eat to when we s**t.

Funny, I can`t stand Che Guevara. He was just as greedy as the people he claimed to be fighting, a homocidal manic and a coward.

But if you don`t see a need for limits with people like this running around, you`re a blind dumbass.

Not that you haven`t always been.

I`m torn here...

on one hand- he`s fat and shouldn`t be eating that much anyway and I`m sure he is not what the restaurant means by "all you can eat"

on the other hand, he`s right, he paid for all he can eat and he could have kept eating...

All you can eat VEAL?!? WOW. I question the quality of that item.

It`s a nonsensical protest, but one thing is clear: all you can eat is ALL you can eat. If you post it as such, the only circumstance that ends it is if you legitimately run out of product. In that case, a voucher for a return trip should be issued. However, if this gentleman had a running tab with the establishment, he should not have been allowed to participate in the offer if that tab was eventually going to be held over him as a condition for withholding the offer.

And all you British trolls: lay off. I have worked in the travel industry, and your whining, unchecked British kids so utterly trump your sarcastic musings, it`s not even funny.

"Stand up for consumers" he says...

Yeah, fat, entitled consumer pigs. The REGULAR consumers don`t need people like you standing up for them, because they don`t literally eat a business into the ground.

Restaurants have the right to ask you to leave for any reason (except, of course, outright discrimination of protected groups as defined by the Civil Rights Acts, of course), it`s private property. And the fact that they even bothered to give him MORE food is a courtesy.

They should just ban his fat ass, especially with an unpaid tab, and be done with it. It`s obvious he`s costing them money.

AYCE means just that, they have to honor it.

They could ban him though until he pays off his tab, which is probably only a temporary fix.

But something tells me this guy can`t possibly `picket` all day and night and no one can read his stupid sign anyways.

Yes, he`s fat. Yes, he`s stupid. I blame the establishment (not sure if "restaurant" is appropriate) though. If he`s done it before, don`t let him start. Refuse service, you have a right to. If you let him begin his meal, then you should let him finish regardless of how inhumanly gluttonous it is.

Ban his big fat butt. Case closed. He has no legal `right` to be served at all, much less be served unlimited quantities -- he is not being discriminated against in the legal sense.

There was an Asian all-you-can-eat restaurant where I use to eat. I would often see a thin woman eating plate after plate of food. Six piled plates of food. I wounded how she eats so much. Then the waiters told me the she we puking after each plate. She was never banned

I can get the occasional hankering for a good fish `n` chips meal, but even as someone who is just shy of 6 feet, a two-piece serving usually leaves me wondering how/why I ate the whole thing! This glutton packs away 12 pieces plus is "sent on his way with another 8"? My gawd, that`s inhuman!
