"and if you`re dumb enough to put lettuce into a cart without it being in a bag, then you are just asking for trouble"
Germs can transfer from any bag or container or surface you touch- to your hands. This is why hand washing and avoiding touching your mouth, nose, eyes is important. Produce carries added risks with handling, poking from its bag, being eaten raw. This is general knowledge. How did we get down here?

"chances are your home has more germs in it than a WalMart shopping cart. you can`t sterilize yourself or your kids, and frankly if you try to do that, you`re doing way more harm than good. "
Straw man argument. I agree with the statement in and of itself, but this hasn`t a thing to do with my position.

I`m not against debates but there are more focused ways to go about it. I`m not interested in wasting any more time in a dialogue in which I have to navigate through a digressive gauntlet of conclusion-jumping and

"but jesus woman, she`s not exposing the rest of us to the Plague."
Yeah, nah, just to the "small stuff" like hepatitis, e.coli, meningitis, parasitic intestinal worms and other nasties- no biggie

"for the love of god, chill out."
I guess you thought I was upset or obsessing? A germaphobe? Text can have that effect, I guess. Nah, just calmly expressing my opinion. Very chill. 8-)

"Do you think public restrooms have awesome doctor-approved infection control procedures?"
Sure don`t.

"do you think poo is the worst thing to have seen that shopping cart?"
Worst as in how? As in the ability to make people sick? Feces would be definitely be "up there" in my opinion.

"do you honestly think people care?"
Who cares?
Yes, I do. People know germs are everywhere but I don`t think they wanna put their lettuce down in a fresh smear of poop or have their hands or their kids` hands come in contact with it.

"but jes

@talon0325- "only in America" Do some quick research and you will learn that there is only a 10% higher rate in clinical obesity in Americans opposed to Canadians. Next, try and research Canadian contributions to the world, science, arts, ect.opposed to American. Thank you for hockey.

@talon0325; that baby she`s changing is probably the reason she got that big in the first place. Although, that is kind of gross.

And why am I suprised that some fat assed cow actually found someone to impregnate that . Only in America. And of course that cow needs an SUV to transport her fat arse and a kid. She probably left the poo laden diaper in the cart. Way to go Americans. Be strong , now find something else to start a war . Wait we can send in the military to prevent this abuse against shopping carts

I`d bet 20 bucks she left a literal mess in that cart for someone else to clean up.

Nice bunch of trash bags in her fat-mobile, too.

I`m a veteran diaper-changing mama, and this is what I think:

You can tell by the photo that she`s not way out in an empty part of the parking lot, so even if she`s oblivious to infection control procedures she still scores a lot of TACKY POINTS in my opinion.

Unsanitary? Yup. It`s a misuse of a shopping cart for sure, protective pad or not. Note that first-rate pediatricians` offices regularly disinfect their infant measuring tables and scales and STRICTLY PROHIBIT diaper changes on these surfaces. Anything to potentially do with fecal matter should not be on or near commonly shared surfaces. It`s a no-brainer.

Supposing this woman DOES understand things on the microbial level and abhors the thought of using the germy pull-out diaper deck in the restroom (which I would totally understand).. in that case she`s just an inconsiderate cow who`s okay with potentially "pooting" on the rest of us. :-/

The photo shows that there`s plenty room in

Add to that the fact that he`s probably the baby`s daddy and took the picture to send to grandma in prison.

No. People put their food which is in bags and boxes and jugs in that cart. If they put their food directly in the cart they deserve disease. Those things have thousands of users and spend a lot of time outside. Were you under the impression that cart was sanitary until she changed her baby?

The problem here is sanitation. people put thier food in that cart and I`m sure Wal Mart doesn`t have those carts scheduled for any type of cleaning.

I doubt she came to Walmart for this reason... You crapped yourself as a baby and your parents had to change you in the worst places. Why would anyone photograph this?

Looks OK to me - the baby isn`t in any danger and is on a blanket or something like that. Sure, it`s a bit tacky, but it`s not unreasonable and may well have been the best available option.

I honestly see nothing wrong with it. There are blankets covering the cart, after all. She might not even live in the area and you don`t want to leave your baby sitting in their own filth for too long as they`ll get painful rashes.

What`s worse is that some creep saw fit to take a picture of it.
