If you`re wondering Canada is the USA`s main oil provider followed by Mexico then Saudi Arabia.

@Squrlz4Sale

Saudi Arabia is the world leader in exporting oil you could say that about many countries besides the US. At least we haven`t been buying from Iran unlike some places in Europe....

What would be even funnier would be to tell the guys it`s a prank, but then you REALLY sign them up for the army and ship their asses out to boot camp that day.

Squrlz4Sale: The Saudi royals have a moderating effect on muslim extremism. They don`t fund terrorism they fight it. In fact there have been several acts of terror committed in Saudi Arabia because they help us.

If the royals there were dethroned it would be disastrous. The royals aren`t seeking nuclear arms, aren`t provoking war with their neighbors and are slowly becoming more secular.

Mark my words, you will see Egypt descend into an Iranian like sharia state very soon, as will most of the other `Arab Spring` revolutionary countries.

I think MacGuffin makes some good points in a gadfly-like way. I don`t agree with all her views, but her 11:31:19 AM post below about 9/11/2001 is spot on. It`s always bothered me how Saudi Arabia received a free pass on the events of that day.

The short version of what`s going on:

1. The U.S. keeps the corrupt Saudi royal family in power with political favors and the purchase of over a million barrels of their oil a day.

2. Hated by many of their own people, the Saudis buy off the Muslim fundamentalists, who would otherwise be agitating for social change, by lavishing money on their terrorist groups, with the understanding that the targets will be in the West and not within Saudi Arabia.

3. These Saudi-financed terrorists attack us and the U.S. looks everywhere but Saudi Arabia to assign blame.

After seeing well over a hundred of these Just for Laughs gags, it never fails to amaze me that anybody in Montreal falls for any of them anymore.

The best one yet was when a person went into a porta-potty, the crew ran out and erected a board room complete with tables, chairs and people directly outside the door.
@Mac "meaningless illegal wars" Say, have you by chance ever read a newspaper from around Sept 9. 2001?
Was that the day that Iraq or Afghanistan invaded America? No, I forgot, it was the day that 19 people, 15 of whom were from Saudi Arabia, and none of whom were from either Iraq or Afghanistan, acting on the orders of another Saudi national, committed a terrorist atrocity as individuals. How is the US`s relationship with Saudi Arabia these days, btw?

ah MacGuffin finaly found the source of your bitterness, don`t worry about the fact that your looks took the last train south, a lot of men will actually walk past the hot bitch in favour of a kind/caring/compatible girl who offers more then a pretty face. SO just you start smilling and bieng nice for a change and you.`ll find a guy

(it`s your first comment that gave the clue)

Macguffin... it`s a joke, treat it as such.

but your observation that this reaction is different from service wives isn`t applicable for a couple of reasons - most service wives married into someone already in the forces, so they already knew the risks and consequences of it. Secondly, whilst most service wives are proud of their husbands and say as much - a lot of that in my experience (quite a lot of going on operations and leaving my family behind) is that is equally tempered with `please don`t go` conversations for weeks before you get on the plane. The two stances are not mutually exclusive.

The main attraction of this video for me was the women`s eyes. Omigosh, so much emotion brimming right on the surface. The woman in the brown dress seemed particularly sweet and about three seconds from bursting into tears. I hope these guys appreciate how lucky they are!

There`s an interesting disconnect between the behaviour of the women in this video, and the rationalising behaviour that squaddies` wives, girlfriends and partners often engage in when their "heroes" actually do get sent off to participate in meaningless illegal wars for real. Women with spouses in the forces often like to loudly proclaim the notion that their other halves are somehow "brave" or "fighting for freedom" by getting involved in such conflicts. This video shows what most women really think of such acts if asked for their opinion before the fact: i.e. that anyone who gets themselves involved in participating in the pointless wars that have characterised the past decade must not care about their partner as much as their partner thought, and be a gullible fool into the bargain.

The girl with the guy in the blue `Adidas` t-shirt was way out of his league. I`m guesssing if this wasn`t the very last nail in the coffin of their relationship, it will certainly turn out to have been one of the final few.
