This Japanese food might normally taste like heaven, but in its current state, how could it?

Captive breeding is worse than wild salmon.

California rolls aren`t vegetarian. They`re crab, cucumber, and avocado. The crabmeat isn`t actual crab though; it`s usually pollock.

in europe, by the way, salmon is the main ingredient for sushi, which comes pretty much exclusively from captive breeding, hence doesn`t hurt the oceans.

there`s also vegetarian sushi! (the [in]famous `california role`).

japan = sushi ... wow we`re stereotyping, aren`t we? if you take a close look you`ll see there is no sushi inside the box, nor any kind of fish. only fried chicken, ham/spam, and eggs.

*gets up on soapbox* Sorry, I dont eat Japanese cuisine, especially sushi. As long as this style of cuisine was only available in Japan, fine. But since sushi has spread to N. Americe, Europe, and other parts of Asia, meeting the demand for ingredients has really hammered ocean fishstocks etc. I respectfully decline to eat in sushi restaurents because of this. *gets down from soapbox, walks away*

Maybe it`s just cool to be environmentally conscious. But I don`t know how much influence Al Gore has in Japan.
