First off, did you really have a legitimate fear of math? Secondly, please tell me your name is pronounced "Lasagna?"

Did you know that scientists recently discovered that they can zap your brain with electricity, and make you a math genius for 6 months?

I know someone who named their twins Molly and Phemolly (only spelled Male and Female).
much like the similar story of the girl named Chlamydia
@plastinum: No doubt there`s an internet fable about that, BUT!
I knew a woman who indeed named her daughter Chlamydia! Although I have no idea if it was spelled that way, it was pronounced the same. This was in Winnipeg, Canada and waaaaay back in the late 80`s or early 90`s, she was a "hippie" type and making some sort of "point" eh?

The worst AA name I`ve ever heard was Latrina. (She probably had a sister named Toiletta.)

It took me to the comments to realize this wasn`t about the dropping of the s on maths.

On the whole, maths is horribly taught in schools, all arithmetic and bullshut like that. Sure a little basic understanding is useful, but as some mathematician, i forget who, said "arithmetic is being able to count to 20 without taking you`re shoes off". I don`t get why primary schools don`t teach set theory any more, the basics i taught to my 4 year old brother. Also, why the hell is some sort of programming not taught to little kids yet? I can barely do any but i sure as hell with i was taught it at some point./end rant

What was i saying.....oh yeah, maybe she`s discalclic or however you spell that.

I actually work at ACC, and believe it or not, that name is tame compared to the others I see. I`ve actually met a kid named Heroin. Spelled just like that. I checked his drivers license just to confirm.

No offense PhantomGh0st but the La-A/Le-A thing (much like the similar story of the girl named Chlamydia) has been going around the net since 2008. The student was rumored to go to school in Michigan and other rumors said Louisiana and other states as well have been told in different versions of the story....not to say there wasn`t some moron out there since this story took off who heard the rumor and decided to name their kid such a thing but since the rumor hit the net just 4 years ago and you are 18-29 I highly doubt you went to school with someone named that......Snopes debunked this quite some time ago and proved there is no one in the Social Security database with such a name where the spelling includes a "dash that don`t be silent".
But just for the record, let me say, there are plenty of people out there naming their kids stupid stuff, but this apparently isn`t one of the real cases.
