Well hi there. I could probably lend some help, as I certainly don`t have a phobia of holes if you catch my drift.

I`m sorry, it was sitting there and this is the internet. Someone had to do something.

Anyways, lame sexual innuendo-ish comments aside, that`s pretty grotesque. I haven`t read the link yet, but the most fun part of the whole thing is that supposedly the only way to get tapeworms in one`s brain as opposed to one`s intestines is to actually eat infected feces instead of undercooked meat, so either there`s a wave of scat-fetishism sweeping latin america, or more likely there`s a wave of living-in-latin-america sweeping latin america.

But I`m trying to eat hot pockets, so it`s time to leave.

"Likely why so many religions forbid pork..."

Bingo! Because of that and trichinosis.

Why would you eat bacon raw?
Also I might start charging if that ever happens because I am the landlord here.

@Gerry: *gag* I didn`t think of that mode of transmission. I propose a new sign for restaurant bathrooms, effective immediately:

"Employees must wash hands before returning to work so that customers aren`t infected with brain-devouring tapeworm larvae."
"This can occur if someone shedding tapeworm eggs contaminates food that other people then eat."
Meaning the cook didn`t wash his hands after he wiped his ass.

Eww

@Quik2TheStab: This isn`t caused by eating undercooked meat. It`s caused (as the article states) by ingesting tapeworm eggs found in human feces. That can occur if you`re eating unwashed vegetables grown in soil that`s been fertilized by raw sewage, as is sometimes done in Mexico and Third World countries.

I`ve studied for my MLT certificate, it`s very rare for T. solium to enter the bloodstream. But if they do they can infect other places than the brain (like the eyes for example, sweet dreams).
