OldOllie, your assertions are bigoted from the beginning, so I don`t even know why I`m explaining myself. Suffice it to say, it`s not as black and white as you paint your world to be. I like to think that most people receiving government aid (myself included) have fallen on hard times, and because we no longer live in a society that prides itself on free enterprise, resort to a hopefully temporary means of keeping food in our bellies and roofs over our head. Your comment about killing people offends me. You, Sir, are a hobgoblin.

So, KF, which one of those two describes you? Maybe both?

Not any more. Being involved in politics now is which team you root for. Which team will spend your money quickest for pointless crap like war on other countries.

Yeah, well he also said: `Society cannot share a common communication system so long as it is split into warring factions`

To which Tim Berners-Lee replied `Oh kiss my arse Brecht`

I`m ignorant of some of the petty details of the political system (like who`s occupying what position in it) and it doesn`t matter in the slightest because (a) the system is the same regardless of petty details like that and (b) nothing I can do will change anything about it.

Maybe I`d take action if there was a clear course of action and an extreme enough reason to do so (i.e. armed revolt against a dreadful tyranny), but I live comfortably in a decent, stable society with a choice of two(*) political parties who would run the same system in slightly different ways (while different media outlets would rave about how very different the parties are and how one will save us and the other will ruin us, blah blah blah).

* Strictly speaking, more like two and a quarter and some tiny scraps, but it doesn`t matter. It`s a race between two racehorses, an old donkey and some tortoises.

I do not vote for crooks . . . if and when I find an honest politician, I will cast my vote.

This guy was dead way before politics was fueled by a 24/7 media blitz of hate for anyone who doesn`t agree with your party. He was from a time when it was easy to ignore politics because media was not pervasive in your daily life. Today you have to almost be a shut in to avoid hearing a political opinion.

I hate politics, but not because I know to little about it but because I know too much. All our problems boil down to two simple things:

1) There are too damned many people who will not be content with running their own miserable lives.

2) There are too damned many people who think someone else should pay their bills for them.

If we could just kill all of those people, this would be a pretty nice place to live.

I hate politics. And I believe his argument is a moot point. These things happen BECAUSE we have the political system we have and are perpetuated if we don`t participate in the ugly cycle. Let`s just bomb the whole concept and whoever makes it through the mayhem starts over and tries something else.

There`s a fine line between political science and politics. Political science is knowing how things work and how to enact solutions to problems. Politics is two (or more) groups arguing with each other while solving no problems.

I don`t hate politics. In fact, I enjoy reading/learning about it... The only thing I hate about politics is hearing two people completely convinced in what they`re saying, contradict each other... its becomes a little obvious no one has a drating clue.

The worst illiterate is the [insert personal agenda] illiterate. Anyone who doesn`t focus on the exact same pet issues as I do must be lazy.

I hate politics and participate. Hating the game doesn`t mean you avoid it. I hate it more because I am forced to participate or deal with the consequences of apathy on top of it. Mostly why I hate it is because of the way it is played in general. Most political arguments begin by being distilled to the lowest point possible in order to get the fervent zealots riled up as much as possible, leaving actual consideration on both sides in the gutters.

I have my opinions on the various "issues" going on in the US right now (e.g. Gay marriage, Economic downfall, legal pot, abortion and what have you) but I absolutely hate listening to people argue about them..

The worst post is a text as image post. It`s an illustration of someone who`s too lazy to write their opinion and too scared to take credit.

@jtreb: You`re joking right? This is pure Tea Party philosophy.

OWS is based on hate, TP is based on knowledge, huge difference.

Oh wait, are we going to OWS to taunt them while carrying this sign? Then I`m with you dude!

@carmium just described Obama to a "T", intentionally or not? lolz!

Whoa whoa whoa retard.. I said I hate politics, yes. When did I say I think they should be abolished and we should live in a society of anarchy?! Your ignorance and perhaps your arrogance has lead you to an assumption that is completely wrong.

For the record, I hate politics because they`re boring as drat to me and I`m interested and stimulated by other things. I hate dirty public restrooms. That doesn`t mean I want to poo in a paper bag in the back corner of the supermarket.

In a fixed system we`re all illiterates. A vote for one side is a vote for both so stop deluding yourselves.

@beternal:
I understand your viewpoint, but to me, the danger is when people don`t understand politics and can thus often be led down the proverbial garden path over one issue. Charming candidates who promise to slash gas taxes, increase employment, cut back immigration, or get blood from a stone can be elected without the uncaring populace ever knowing their real agendas, let alone what the results of, say, banning foreign investment, really are. You alone many not make a difference, Bet, but too many of you sitting in complacency can eventually make a very large difference indeed.

I take pride! The world will still tick over without me knowing who the prime minister is. As long as I get the bills/ taxes... I don`t care what twat came up with the idea or what twat is going to add another one. Me knowing or not knowing won`t change anything.

And seriously, what is more boring than people talking politics!!! Who gives a sh%t what some old guy in some old building is doing! I`m not there to kick him in the balls to tell him to stop coming up with these ridiculous ideas (Cornish Pasty tax COME ON!!!) so I don`t worry about it.

Life is old men talking, and young men doing... sadly the young ones have started talking and stopped doing.

I don`t know. I`m very passionate about politics, very informed, vote, etc., yet I`m pretty certain that my efforts make not a single ounce of difference. And, because of that, I`ve been trying more and more of late to divorce myself, emotionally, from it all. Too much stress for the return, far as I`m concerned. I can stand in front of a runaway locomotive in an effort to stop it, or, I can stand aside. I`m at a point in life where I kinda feel I`d rather not be run over any more.
