EA delivers games with cheesy plots, bad game play and great marketing....does anyone expect more of them?

I don`t know which is worse, really - Origins or Steam. Read the EULA`s if you wanna see something really scary.

Indeed, the eventual and unavoidable future of gaming is requiring an internet connection for all games, no hard copies anymore only digital (to prevent used games from being sold via GameStop etc., and all for the feeling of renting a game that I already paid for.

@Blanktom: Dragon Age 1 was quite good, but that`s also where the good ended. The expansion pack rendered most of your end-game choices moot, and the expansion itself was haphazard. DA2 was just flat out horrible all around.

@AJ: ME1 was originally just Bioware, since EA bought Bioware the same year ME1 was released, and it was great (except for the annoying cookie-cutter APC side-missions). ME2 was actually really good, but if ME3 is any indication then quality is getting slashed for useless things like multiplayer and hurried deadlines.

Take all this with EAs horrible practice with employees, no steam, etc. as this video points out, and I think the video is quite accurate. It`s not as easy as "if you don`t like them don`t buy their games", because some game franchises I played before EA took over, and I like the franchise too much to stop because EA bought them.

Someone is WAY over thinking basic consumerism. And are probably very lonely living in their mothers basement while complaining about EA with other online gamers online.

Mass Effect series was epic.

The story was not cheesy. It was very good.

Don`t get me started about the ending.

I could go on literally forever, but all those things suck. Please..tell me -- why are they still around?

I use to play a game, but then EA Games took over, and lets face it they completely ruined it. The game is not worth the money. It`s full of glitches, and the content is certainly does not validate the expenses. Quite frankly, I could care less for EA Games.

nothing that sucks survives for very long.

bases on this simple premise, this entire video is simply one man`s rant against EA and not reflective in the least of their actual gaming content.

unless of course this person is suggesting that everyone BUT them is an idiot.

course, more likely this guy just sucks at gaming...

oh my, the inability of some people to say no...

Don`t like EA, don`t buy EA, it`s very, VERY easy. Stuff in this world is not tailored to suit your exact tastes. Don`t like something, click next or don`t buy it.

I`ll bet EA is owned by Bain Capital.... send in Axelrod, BO, Maher, Jon Stewart, Comedy Central, Hollywood, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, and unleash the beast!

Oh, and hard luck if you`re using a PC. Making PC games is harder than making console games (more advanced hardware and many different combinations of hardware). So publishers won`t allow devs to make PC games. PC games have to support different resolutions, different combinations of effects to allow for PCs with different graphical power, better graphics overall, etc. So instead they feed a console game to a conversion program that will make the console version run on a PC and rely on the far greater power of a PC to brute force the resulting crappily inefficient code. Emulation, basically, very badly done on the cheap.

I`ve seen "PC games" that they didn`t even bother to add mouse support to. I`ve even seen some that they didn`t even bother adding an "exit to desktop" option to.

The biggest problem is that it works. EA know their market - that`s why they`re successful. It`s sadly true that marketing is far more important than the game itself.

It`s why "copy protection" exists and is constantly becoming harsher. The main purpose of "copy protection" is to shift the balance of power totally to the publisher, to ensure that the publisher retains total control over who plays their games and when. That`s happening now. Once it`s established normal practice, the publishers will start using it. Why else would they do it? We`ll all end up paying over and over again to play any game because all we`ll be buying is a temporary license to play as and when the publisher allows us to. Pay every month. Pay extra if you want to be allowed to play at the weekend. Pay extra if you want the whole game (but they`ll charge you for the whole game anyway, plus the extra). Etc.
