...The question doesn`t matter. Are all of your comments stupid on purpose?

Examiner plagiarised his own answer.

This is stupid. I can`t even read the whole question.

The answer is D. This actually makes this a really easy question, because Danielle wouldn`t have to provide a source for her own ideas, eliminating C, the fact that B & E are a double answer eliminates them both, but because B is technically correct, your only option left is D. It`s a giveaway question.

Actually, on a multiple choice exam, if two of the options are synonyms for each other, you can eliminate them as choices (unless there is an "all of the above" option, then choose it)

And as someone stated it is pretty obvious what the general question is.

You DO need to cite paraphrased anything
A= Correct

You DO need to cite others research

B= Correct

You DO NOT need to cite your own opinion or ideas
C= Not correct

So obviously D is the correct answer.

However, the issue the poster is making is the fact that B and E are the same answer. Of course it really does not matter here. E should have been A and C are correct or something of that nature. There is no possible twisting of this question that you could say one needs to be cited over the other... because there is no more important citation on something that needs to be cited. So, in reality the teacher is telling you B is not correct therefore E is not correct so you have to decide between A or B and if they are both (they are) then D.

They do that in the GMAT too. Is A sufficient, B sufficient A+ B required, either A or B, or neither. I hate those questions.

@Thonious obviously you have not.

Clearly if you were to select B you may be correct.

If you select E you are also correct if B is correct.

In your statements none of them are the same answer.
A. True
B. False
C. Partially (true I assume you forgot to type) and partially false (This is ridiculous)
D. Neither true nor false
E. None of the above

None of those answers being selected would automatically make another answer be correct, however in the case provided here B and E are both the same answer

The answer is right in front of you, multiple choice is simply a process of elimination.

I have seen thousands of test questions like that. I don`t see the problem.

A. True
B False
C. Partially and partially false.
D. Neither true nor false.
E. None of the above.

Well...only being able to read a portion of the question...it still does not seem difficult.

Why would this make someone cry? I don`t get this at all.

from the little bit I can read, I will assume the question is related to Danielle writing a paper/article, and the question asked is what she needs to cite.

It looks like the answer is D (A and B) anyway.

That makes sense. If you choose B, then you`re implying that while A and C might be apply, B is the best answer out of them all. If you choose E, then only B is correct and A and C don`t apply to the question. We don`t know the full question and answers, so I can`t say for sure that my description is accurate.
