Not just another angle, but an earlier moment as well.

I would imagine the tanks kept rolling until the video and images most of us older heads remember seeing.

I don`t know this was pretty iconic. More than Berlin wall for sure.

My school taught us about the internment. They taught how shaming and wrong it was too. Not sure where you get the sweep it under the rug idea but it didn`t happen where I`m from.

And its all thanks to the guy in the Caterpillar that there isn`t a ton of street debris in the famous picture. Thank you, Caterpillar guy, for making the scene look perfect for the morning news the next day.

The US did the same thing in WW1 against german citizens. Although odd now, it used to done a lot.

@jclv I learned about Japanese internment in school, but I see what your trying to say. However, comparing the US to the Chinese in terms of whitewashing history is like comparing... Uh, insert absurd analogy here.

We still make documentaries, websites and lifetime movies about our dirty laundry. They have state controlled TV and movie studios, and a censored internet.

George Takei is currently making a documentary about Japanese internment, BTW. He was one of those interned as a child. Looking forward to it, if only because he`ll be the narrator.

@killian: Most of those Germans were actual American Nazis or otherwise there was some reason to arrest them.
The Japanese? They just hauled off the whole family, into high mountain deserts and held them there.
The vast majority were loyal American citizens, they went peacefully out of love for their country.
Canada wasn`t any better.

In all fairness, we did also detain several thousand german/ americans. Most were deported to germany.

Surely the most iconic thing would be the fall of the Berlin Wall?

The saddest thing is that the whole Tienanmen square deal is nearly unknown to the generation of Chinese that followed. They don`t talk about it, don`t teach that it happened. Not even to try and spin it.

It`s like it never happened to them.

He was an amazingly brave human being! I sure hope the Chinese Government didn`t torture him to death...
