    Some cardboard, glue, scissors, and aluminum foil can cure that. There are many templates to download for making a small parabolic antenna.

    so sad, and so true. somehow I can get the free wifi from the Mickey D`s a block away, but damned if I can get full bars if I move my laptop from one end of the sofa to the other...in the same room as the router.

    You could always simply buy a decent router. I have a fritz box, it`s awesome.
