    Good for him! Many fighters would have kept on pounding, it`s really what they`re trained to do.

    @lyonartime & @Buiadh: Look at 0:30 and following: he sees that his opponent isn`t defending and stops punching, before the ref gets there! Cheesus, pay attention boys!@

    Lyonartime and Buiadh, Unlike many fighters who keep pounding away until the ref pulls them off, Brian stopped as soon as he knew his opponent was unconscious. He didnt wait for the ref to stop the fight, he did it himself.

    In MMA coaches will usually tell you to keep fighting until the ref stops the fight, even if it`s clear that your opponent is knocked out or submitting. This guy didn`t continue punching when he realized his opponent was knocked out.

    This is an example of a guy who has %100 control over himself as he fights and is very aware of his surroundings. Its actually really inspiring.

    @Blatto

    that is pretty much the point of the post. and the reason fighters are told that is because if he assumes his opponent has been knocked out or has submitted and he is incorrect, it could could cost him the fight. in this particular situation, even if he was wrong, there was no way he was going to lose that fight. it`s called sportsmanship.

    Did I miss something, x3? That guy wasn`t "out cold". Had he recovered, got up and won the fight, he`d have regretted that decision to give him a breather.

    @Macguffin, you can see him go limp for a second, that`s a knockout and the fight is called regardless

    Why would you go any further unless you were a psychopath? It that what we are rewarding him for? Not being Hannibal Lecter? lol

    Maybe if Trayvon Martin had been as good a sport as Brian Stann, George Zimmerman wouldn`t have had to shoot him.
