    Inspirational.

Its a crappy Baz Luhrmann - Sunscreen. Plus its aimed at such a specific demographic, what I actually envisage is that this is more a self summary of lessons for his own life (not a reflection on his and others). He bitches about spoilt rich kids, so what, if I had money and power to support and provide for my children`s education, or open doors, then I would. Its a form of skewed evolution in society.

I would disagree where he says that politicians work hard. They are simply warts that need to be removed.

great inspirational video, but I also can`t help thinking, what about the people who may have money, but are not just ignorant spoilt brats. It almost makes it seem as if people who have come from a poor background are somehow better than someone who has parents that have worked hard to put them through school.

And no, I don`t come from a particularly well off family, and I have taken out a student loan to pay for my degree.

I don`t think you need to turn his message around and say `so what if I`m rich? blah blah blah`.
Some kids really need to hear this, need to be told that they are not losers, that they have the right to succeed in whatever way they can dream of.

If you want you can...blah blah.
Very nice message, very poetic, you can call it also "the supreme right message" but life dont go under recipes. This is just a dreamy point of view, a faboulus point of view, hurray Peter Pan is alive!.But real life is more complicated, not allways te formula "if you want you can" work. We are the product of a overpressuring society where all is allready established, we can have some example of some people going out the scheme but not all can follow that example. Keep dreaming my friends, i keep drinking my Absolut.

First of all Roosevelt came from meager beginnings?

@ antagonizer - Mr. Smally, that was wonderful.

@ Rawrbot You have the right to aspire to whatever you wish - not the right to succeed.

@bataleon27, coming from a family like that if you ever have kids of your own you will now realize the importance of saving money for their educations because you now know how hard it is to fund an education as a student these days. My parents never spoiled me or were super well off but they did put money aside for me to go to college and i think that is the best thing parents can do with their money for their kids.

I understand what he`s saying and it`s something I`ve often followed by even before this video. One thing I disagree with though is that, school is the only way of getting where you want. No he didn`t say that you MUST have a degree but you`d find that schools and education facilities are sometimes the reason why people are put off their goals in life because it`s to overbearing or teachers don`t give them any motivation. You really need a degree or amazing qualification to achieve anything (as long as it`s realistic).

This should be etched in stone on every wall, of every nation in every language.

    Life is choice.
Instead of blame... think about what you can do to make your life better.

I know many of you on this board are super-smart. Smarter than any other person on the planet. Your clever, witty comments are evidence of this.

Obviously you have perfect lives, and deserve it.
But for the rest of us beneath you, we all could use a reminder that we have a say in our life... and much of what our lives become is up to us.

And we will get much farther embracing an idea than we ever will picking it apart.
