90 abortion restriction laws passed across the US in 2010. 10 this year already. Various attacks on, "family planning," (I HATE THAT TERM) clinics/services. Rick Perry basically sentencing thousands of women to death by canceling the women`s health program because it was based out of Planned Parenthood and he thinks abortion is bad! ZERO state or federal funding goes to abortions. Ever. The only thing people like him are doing is denying a bunch of women free/cheap access to cancer/cystic ovary/STD/etc screenings and birth control. What the actual hell did we do to you guys? Keep yer hands outta my uterus! Go fix poverty or like, domestic violence. This poo didn`t need fixing in the first place! Does now...

Defining women as pregnant from the time their last period ends makes sense to you?
Really?

SmagBoy1 - Yes, it applies to rape. And I`m sure some other .0005 % unusual circumstance appies as well. Pregnancy from rape is rare yet libretards always drag that up for their arguement as though it were a daily occurance in most homes. 99.9% of the women made their bed. Adults need to face the fact that there are consequences to their actions and they have to make better choices or face those consequences.

Conservative logic: Don`t want the government interfering with their lives. Make bills banning abortion, gay marriage, and marijuana use.

this makes sense to me. After the second trimester abortions are kinda brutal. It`s not whether we agree that the woman is pregnant or not after twenty weeks of fertilization, it`s that after 20 weeks, the baby can feel pain, and I think that leans towards the cruel side.

@LillianDulci: idk about ObamaCare not covering abortion pills, I cannot see why they wouldn`t be covered.

But it`s true, you did specify "morning after pills" and were clear about it!

Thanks for the reply! I think we agree this legislation is goofy, eh?

"HEY! Who was lecturing me that this was impossible?"

Don`t try to twist this into your favor. You were saying that the morning after pill is an abortion pill when it`s NOT. I never said abortion pills don`t exist. Obama`s plan concerning birth control did NOT include abortion pills.

20 weeks? >.> whats wrong with that its like 5 months since the last menstral cycle. If anything thats a little extreme...here if we get stupid or malfunctioning birth control methods we pay 100 bucks and done deal, morning after pill.....who is lazy enough to wait that long anyway? >.>

"Abortion in pill form in the first 9 weeks of pregnancy"

HEY! Who was lecturing me that this was impossible? @LillianDulci?

So Obama really IS trying to force religions to pay for abortion pills!

Gerry, this law clearly applies to victims of rape, those who may suffer irreparable health issues, etc., due to continued pregnancy--not to mention the definition of pregnancy starting from the last menstruation--so,no, you, someone who should surely know better about government pootiness, are wrong. The "right to use birth control" is completely and entirely irrelevant here.

Yay for Republicans! Yay for the ultra-right religious inflicting their beliefs on the rest of us. Not enough that religious freedom is allowed here. Not enough that they have a right to live their own lives how they want. They have to tell others how to live, too. That goodness that the trends show that this is more of a death rattle than a continuing trend.

Women are only pregnant when not menstruating according to this law.

So....if you are ovulating, or not on your period, you are pregnant.

Lucky you ladies, you get to use the pregnant parking spots 3 weeks out of the month! No more walking through the huge Walmart parking lot for you!

Ok, Republicans...let`s hear you say something about "freedom" liberties", "government overreach" or the supposed "phoney war on women". C`mon. I dare you.

Slut etta - it`s about the babies rights, not the mothers. She had the right to use birthcontrol, didn`t, now there`s another person in the picture.

But this AZ law is pretty stupid. Life is before conception? Not even the craziest church would throw that one out there.

the government needs to stay the hell out of our pelvises. whatever i want to do with myself is my own damn business. even though it is HIGHLY unlikely that i would get pregnant, i will fight for the rights of my niece and my daughter to control their own bodies and their own destinies.

The only way to have less abortions in the world is to teach teens how to use contraception. Abstinence should also be taught but it can not be the only lesson. The more you tell a kid not to do something the more they are going to want to do it.
